A neat little video of what appears to be an original '71 Charger R/T 440. A few scrapes, etc., but in really fine shape. he's the original owner. http://deansgarage.com/2011/still-have-that-green-charger/

Back in the mid '90s, I worked as an engineer for an architectural lighting manufacturer whose parent company is in Germany. We had a German college student interning one summer, and he bought a 2 door Caprice with the "bubble" rear window. It wasn't in all that bad shape, but had a bit of rust from NY winters. When he left, he had the car shipped back to Germany. My friend Keith and I both thought he was crazy, as I recall he paid far less than $1000 for it, and it was going to cost a small fortune to transport. I guess these are a fairly rare find in the UK and Europe. I truly hope he either still has the car, or made a profit from it! -
Very nice! I like your color choices on this. The 507 is such a beautiful car.

You might consider the Herb Deeks photoetched Borrani wheels. A lot cheaper than the laced type. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400147732745&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Which kits have a transaxle?
Jim Gibbons replied to Deckerz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know the Revell Porsche 928 has one; I built the kit so long ago that I can't remember how good the chassis detail was, but if I recall, it was decent. Here's the Drastic Plastic instruction sheet for it: http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/instruction_sheetsh/instruction_sheets/revell-3/revell-porsche-928/ -

No, Godzilla's mom called him home for lunch, and he left his hula hoop behind. -
Tony, there will ALWAYS be room for these; they're truly a visual and historic delight. Too bad we didn't have a Brass Era forum topic. If you haven't found it yet, Art Anderson has been working on a scratchbuilt Knox. Great stuff. Again, keep them coming; you're starting a fan club here!

I love these; it's refreshing to see these beautifully built models of rarely built subjects. You're inspiring me to build more of my 1/32 kits. Keep 'em coming!

Wow, another great build! It's a pleasure to see your vintage iron models; I hope you have many more to show us.

i found Cthulhu's truck thingy

I knew that; I have a number of his books. He and August Derleth are among my favorite horror writers. If you want to see some great illustrations for Weird Tales and other related pulps, look up Virgil Finlay. When I saw the topic heading with Cthulhu in it, I couldn't resist with the H.P. reference! -
Definitely very cool and very different! Looking forward to following this.

Very cool! Back in the late '70s, a friend had a red TR4, along with a really cool Triumph Herald drophead. Looking forward to your progress.

I'm really enjoying your 1/32 models. I'm currently working on a Pyro 1/32 Mercedes Benz SSK. I don't know if they would be adaptable to the Bugatti, but Herb Deeks sells his photoetched Borrani style on Ebay. They can be used for 1/24 or larger wheel size 1/32. I have a 1/32 Matchbox Auto Union that I'd like to use those wheels on. I think they go for $18 a set.

Beautiful job on both! I really enjoy these Pyro kits.

Very cool, Christian. Glad the complex was saved and used. That was the original plan for the old Poughkeepsie building, but the amount of asbestos in it made the cost too high. The wrecking ball did the rest. -

As Lee mentioned, Modelhaus has a 1985 Impala listed. I like these cars; my dad purchased a new 1977 Impala a few weeks before his death, and I ended up with it. It was a strippo version in tan, 305 V8, with the only other options being an AM radio and rear window defroster that NY State required. It was a really good car. -
There was a recent thread on favorite car chase movies, and Jarius had suggested the silent 1927 movie, "The General" directed by Buster Keaton. This movie will be shown on Turner Classic Movies Sunday, June 12, at 8pm EST. Here's a great chance to see it, even if the chase is with trains. Don't miss it; it's a classic!

That is great news, and I pray for her continuing recovery.

Love these pictures. Here's a blog article about the Fiat plant that was once in Poughkeepsie, NY. I live less than a mile from where it used to be. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2009/06/08/inside-the-poughkeepsie-fiat-factory/ It eventually became Western Publishing, then was torn down, and is now a Home Depot, Staples, etc., shopping plaza. I loved this old building, and wish it had been saved. My friend and former landlady worked for Western in their art department. This Western plant mainly published children's Golden Books and comics. About eight years ago, she showed me some artwork she had salvaged when she worked there. The company was throwing it all out, and she kept some as she thought they would make some nice decoration for her daughter's room when she was very young. They were animation cells from Walt Disney cartoons from Mickey Mouse, Bambi, Snow White, etc. that were used for Golden Books. She was going to toss them, too, but when I told her what they might be worth, she was amazed. My sister sold them for her on Ebay, and she made some very nice money on them. One of them was Mickey and Pluto together, and sold for about $1200. They covered a two week vacation with her daughter and son-in-law to his family in Austria, and then some.
