  1. Hey Nick, any chance I can get in on this? I've been away from car modeling for quite a while and I need some inspiration. I've got some old projects stashed away, can I put them in or should I start from scratch? Ron.
  2. Yup. They're a bit small, they're from an old photobucket account. Ron.
  3. Thanks everybody, this was one of the most involved models I ever built. I spent so much on it I nicknamed it XSF. Ron.
  4. This is a Dragon kit #6233. Built out of the box. Thanks for looking, Ron.
  5. I built this one a while ago, but I can't remember if I posted it here before. If I have, sorry. I started with an AMT '50 Chevy, after modifying the cab I built 4 different beds before I settled on the '60 Starliner. Thanks for looking, Ron.
  6. Awesome!!! Very realistic.
  7. Thanks everybody. Ron.
  8. It's good to build something dirty and beat up every once in a while. The zimmerit(anti-magnetic paste) is made from leftover drywall mud. The cobblestone street is carved out of leftover drywall. Ron.
  9. This one was done and redone about four times, there's not much of the original plastic left. Chopped, channeled, sectioned, '62 Tbird chassis, motor and interior. Doors and trunk were opened and hinged and the interior is covered with tuck and roll. I figure it took me about ten years to finally call it done. Ron.
  10. Sorry, this is the only other photo that survived the computer crash. Ron.
  11. That's a sweet looking conversion kit! Wish I had known it was around when I was building this sucker, would have saved a lot of time. But this one's done from two AMT '53 cabs. Ron.
  12. I only used the AMT '29 body for this one, everything else is from the '32 Phantom Vickie. I cut the dash from the Vickie and mounted it in the '29 so the DuVall windshield would fit right. I recessed the back plate and opened the trunk. There's a fuel cell and battery box in the trunk. I cut apart the front steering and made it posable. The colour is PPG Imron blue. Comments welcome. Ron.
  13. You'll have to excuse the dust inside, it's been on the shelf for quite a while. Ron.
  14. Joe, I built it so long ago I can't remember for the life of me what the colour is. Wish I could, it's a good one. Sorry. Ron.
  15. Romell, thank you, you're a lifesaver(modelsaver?LOL).Don't know how that happened, I used to own one of these. That could have been nasty to find after it was done, being a bit of a perfectionist I would have been compelled to fix it. I like your idea for the hinge, makes painting a breeze when the door lifts off. Thanks. Foxer, I could just reverse the hinge I'm using but I would have to be careful of the horizontal mounts on the fender. If I made them too long they could be seen inside the fender. Ron.
  16. This is the old Revell Buttera '26 T. It's a really nice kit with lots of detail BUT the plastic on this old Revell stuff is so brittle you can easily snap the parts if you're not careful. I've got one of these bodies in about 10 pieces to prove it. I threw some extra details on the engine. Ron.
  17. I built this back in the 90's, it's box stock and I painted it with nail polish from a yard sale. Ron.
  18. Ran into a small problem. The floor of the '60 model is molded to the frame but it only has detail on the bottom. So I'm going to have to detail the top but leave it attached to the frame so the cab will drop onto it when it's assembled. The cab sits a bit low so I had to make steps in the bottom of the door openings. Ron.
  19. Hi Nick, this is part of an article from the 2002 Car Modeler magazine. If you get the chance, get the mag, excellent article on opening everything on a model car. There's a white and blue '62 Tbird on the cover. This is how to make small clips to hold open the doors etc. Ron.
  20. Built almost out of the box, except for the wheels and tires that were borrowed from a Revell '32 coupe. The paint on it is automotive silver base and about 8 coats of PPG Prizmatique followed by clearcoat. This thing really sparkles in the sunlight. Thanks for looking, Ron.
  21. I got the box cut. Kinda tricky, I had to cut behind the wheels as well as the front of the box. Because the frame sits a little high I had to raise the floor a bit to get the box to sit right. I'm going to try to keep the body as original as I can (as a shorty). Just for giggles I cut open the doors. Ron. Thanks for looking.
  22. I built this one quite a while ago. It's right out of the box. It was done before I started to polish the paint on my cars. Ron. Thanks for looking, Ron.
  23. Beautiful job Nick!! I really like the detail touches, they add a lot of character to the truck. Ron.
  24. Hey Nick, I live in a village called Embro. It's right between Woodstock and London along hiway #2. Good to meet you. Ron.
  25. I started to build this one just as an extended cab but I got a little carried away. The rear fenders were widened 1/2".The doors and hood have clips to hold them open and closed. The wheels are from the Monogram F350 and the front suspension is independent, borrowed from an AMT 454SS p/u. The engine is a blown 4.6 litre from the MachIII. The paint job is the same inside and out. Thanks for looking, Ron.
