  1. Nice rustification(is that a word?)!!!! Awesome work!!! Very realistic. Only thing I would add is a couple holes along the bottom. Ron.
  2. Beautiful work!! The paint job and graphics are great!! Ron.
  3. Love it!!!! Even the seat looks beat to scale! Awesome work. Ron.
  4. This isn't model related, more modeler related. Thought it was pretty funny. Ron.
  5. I was messing around with an AMT '60 Chevy street machine P/U and made a new project!! The problem with the '60 is the front suspension is still stock height. So I got the truck down to a respectable level and had a thought, The AMT '72 pickups always had a terrible, toy like chassis so I did a test fit and voila! another mouth to feed!! It's a short box too. Should look cool if I can pull it off. Ron.
  6. Thanks everybody! Russ, the car was primed in white (Boyds Model Master),the flame masks were cut from masking tape and positioned, then the car was sprayed with a coat of flat red enamel. If it bleeds thru just sand it down to the white and touch it up. Last step is to spray on a coat of stoplight red metallic. Jim, those pipes were a pain, tubing is nice but the next time I'm using solid aluminum rod so it won't collapse in a tight corner. Also with solid rod you can drill the end with a 1/32 " bit and use brass rod to assemble the parts. The caps are made from plastic, make the shape you want, drill two holes and insert some stretched sprue for bolts and mount a pin on the back to locate it to a hole in the end of the pipe. Thanks for asking,Ron.
  7. This is one of my older models. I always wanted to do a custom '36 but the only one available was the AMT 5 window, I wanted a 3 window. We were at our local fair and a fellow modeler had a bunch of unwanted stuff and I found an old Monogram 3 window, the one with the really brittle metallic red plastic,3 bucks and I had a project. I chopped it, opened the doors and changed the rumble seat into a trunk. I used the newer '37 Ford chassis, motor and interior and made the front wheels posable. The rear end was dropped a bit and a resin and etch '38 LaSalle grill was added. I can't remember for sure but I think the wheels and tires are from a '58 T-bird. The doors were hinged suicide and there's little catches on all the hinges to hold them open,I hate using wires and sticks to prop them open. Thanks for looking, Ron.
  8. One of my favourite Mopars!!! Beautiful work!! Ron.
  9. Awesome!!! That colour is outstanding!!!! Ron.
  10. Thanks everyone,I'm glad everybody liked. Old Hermit, that is Elwood on the back. I got the picture out of an old book and laminated it on with about 10 coats of clear. Ron.
  11. This one had lot done.Chopped the top about 1/8",sectioned it about 1/8",pie cut the hood to streamline the front a bit, custom front facia with Corvette grill. The headlights are frenched with aluminum trim rings.'59 Cadillac tail lights. It's got the kit straight 6 in it but the hood's so low I installed Weber carbs for clearance. The side pipes are polished aluminum tubing with caps.Underneath the sidepipes are hooked up to an existing dual exhaust system. The paint is my first attempt at ghost flames. The interior is done in tuck and roll upholstery. Thanks for looking,Ron.
  12. Hi everyone, I just signed up and thought I'd jump right in to the deep end with pics of some of my stuff. This is an old Bel Air kit I got at a show years ago,no hood,no engine, wheelwells hacked open for a pair of slicks and no windows.I didn't actually start to build this car as a project,I was practicing some bodywork techniques I read about and it just kinda happened.Hope you like. Ron.
