  1. Get a re-issue of Monograms Lil'Coffin or Boothill Express, they are somewhat cheap(around $20)for the rear rims and the tires. You will need a Monogram Predicta or Monograms Orange Hauler for the front tires and wheels.(also somewhat inexpensive) These are not exact, but very close to the Blue Beetles.

The original Blue Beetle had 2 bar spinner knockoffs as well, alot of kits have those.

I will take all you can find of the Lil Coffin and Boot Hill Express you can find for 20-25.00... The cheapest I have seen (and I have been trying to buy both of these kits) has been about 50.00... give or take 5.00

  2. Well I drive as close to American as possible... I have a Ford Pickup and a Ford Fusion and both of them are alot less trouble than my friends that drive that Jap BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH... I have 3 friends with Honda Accords 2006 and newer... I get better gas mileage, better service and mine has never been in the shop... they cannot say that... I also have a friend with a 2011 Camry... what a piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH... I have a friend with a toyota tundra... he is always borrowing my ford to do work with because his wonderful Tundra is in the shop... so... I will stay with my ford...

Just because they are #1 doesn't mean they are good cars... It does mean they have a great marketing plan... Ford is #2 and is quickly closing in on Toyota... Ford Trucks have been #1 for years and rightfully so...

  3. Evidently, some people don't care that this means more jobs for Americans, or don't understand that we live in a global economy. We in Tennessee are enriched for the many jobs that are provided by Nissan and VW, plus parts manufacturers like Denso, among many others. Wake up. Or maybe we should petition GM not to change anything because we're not going to like it anyway.

    LOL... get serious...

  4. I got a 69 Johan Roadrunner hood from Smallblockdodge a couple of years ago and it was so bad He sent me another one and itwasn't anybetter... I just gave up on the parts... they are less than workable ... The hood had a real thick bar across the underside of it... I am assuming he did that so the part would stay somewhat straight... Trust me it didn't works and trying to get the thick bar off and make it look good was a waste of my time...

  5. I meant no disrespect to Kevin... I just found ir a bit rude that he would in this post try to direct someone to go to a different vendor for the same type of product... That is all... I do not know Kevin personally and will go with eveeryone on here that he is a great guy... I just thought the situation was a little off... Dan

  6. Ordered a 65 Comet from him a few years ago, and it took him over EIGHT months to send it! And when I got it, it was missing the dashboard. EVER try finding a dash for a 65 Comet? That was enough for me. Theres NO excuse for service THAT sloppy. Won't ever waste my money on his products again. You HAVE been warned!

George... And you are considering buying a dart from a thief like AF/X... Randy at least does send the product... I have never had an issue buying from Perrys...

  7. Yes, I thought I recognized the product as AFX. No mention of it in the auctions. I won the Opel Cadet gasser. I'm hoping to build it more stock though. Does anyone have that one and can give an opinion?

The reason there is no mention of it in the auctions is because of the poor reputation that Wendall (AF/X) has that he hides behind this Ebay name... He has been kicked off of Ebay under several different names... He also sell his stuff through family members on Ebay so when you are buying these products you are rolling the dice on if you will get it... History with them shows they go along pretty good for a while then all of a sudden they disappear...

  8. Thanks Scott... I am thinking of starting to cast a few things myself... mostly little stuff... But eventually some bodies for myself... I will never get into selling stuff (don't want the headaches... I will leave that you you guys... LOL)...

By the Way Scott how is the Stock body coming and the Chassis...

  9. What I am finding in this business is that a lot of people do not do the research or they make posts without accurate information. And for the guy they are slamming or talking about has not done anything wrong. Blue Oval reported I copied his visor, I proved to him I DID NOT and he removed the post. Dimaxon accused me of making shabby items and he thought I was someone else and apologized after I said I don't make the parts he's referring too. So please before you make comments, get it right because all your doing is making it harder for the good guys to make quality products and stay in business. A lot of sales are by word of mouth and blowing off steam on these forums when you don't have your facts right just hurts the little guy.

    Ben

I have seen some of Blue Ovals Stuff and will tell you I won't buy from him... slightly better the TKM...

  10. It was the Fall of 1971 and instead of doing my homework in eight grade I was looking over some model car magazines that I obtained

for chores around the house. In the summer after my brother and I would do work around the house, I would hit the basement---and my older brother, before he enlisted in the Marines, was working on his Chevy 2 , then '63 Impala. It was in these magazines I met Richard Carroll. What

an amazing, wonderfully-l talented builder. I would watch Richard Carroll win trophy after trophy from coast-to-coast. The following year I tried my hand working on his rear suspension blue-print. Although not nearly as symmetrical, and maybe 1% of Richard Carrol's work, it was a wonderful time to watch this man produce, and share some of his work with fellow builders. I still have the suspension that I provided a pik.

    Thanks.

Nice... Glad to see some of this old build stuff trying to do his work...

  11. hi Guys :)

i try to answer to all your questions :

@BKcustoms : i work mainly with tool fitted on dremel (i don"t know the word), scalpel, cutter and sand paper.

@ajshot58 : front bonnet will not open, so no detailled engine.

@sportandmiah : i use "sintofer" polyester bi components putty. the one i use is "soft", easier to sand.

@GerN : youre right, my shape is not accurate, i took liberty to modifie the original design, because what i prefer on this project is the front. i don' like a lot the hard top and the tail, to short for my sense. however i don't know if my design will look better.... ^_^

@many : i know that wheels looks a bit too big, but i haven't better in my stock. i have got some pegasus wheels, the rear one could fit, but the front are to small !

Doug (sportandmiah)... What he is using is comparable to Evercoat Polyester 2 part filler that you can get at almost every Body Shop supply House... I hope this helps you out...
