the problem with looking at a kit with opening doors is the dont open properly. the front of the door opens outside the fiender. a lot of the cars early 60s late 50s open into the front fender. the way to do the part of the jamb where it meets the floor is to put the interior into the body and measure it out. cut some styrene to fit just to the floor but not quite over where the door panel sits. I to have a post up in on the bench it was just put up mr. norms dart i have plenty of jamb pics and if you have any questions or want to see more pics just let me know. Bobbyj

ALL of my body work is done with polyester glazing putty 2 part obviously. and super glue and zip kicker!!! depending on the size of the flaw i'm fixing.

well I first googled the car to find out what the jambs looked like. I then looked at where the steps in the jamb started and ended. cut my styrene sheet at those points and layered it. i placed the interior in the car along with the chassis and cut a paper templet to fit that area and cut a styrene sheet to fill it. al the other layers built it up to end at the rear int. panel. but first you must use iether brass rod or guitar string to support the body where you cut it the "A" pillers are a must and the rocker pannels aren't a bad idea iether. hinge the doors and place your door panel in and tack it to the top of the door and build the doors jamb first. here ill get some pics up in the order it needs to be done. hinges first then doors then body door jambs ther are like 84 pics in my photobucket of what and how i did a lot of this work and more come daily its just hard to post them all everywhere at the same time. this car is also on the scaleauto site too. my bucket screen name is bobbyjjiii check it out it is public. let me know ill take more pics of whatever you guys want to see. bobbyj

I really dont care what he has to say. i posted my car to get what i got from you guys. complements and creteques. all others need not reply. I know that I may not be augie or even Bob kurnow from MCG. however.... I do know what I am capable of. well what you guys classify as scratch built i agree with but I did say "almost" and its funny how the ONLY thing I have used from the kit is the body and even that has been modified. If you guys want to get THAT technical I'll just build a whole car out of brass on my next build!!!!! If you dont like the car and the work dont follow it. i do appreciate coments and feedback on the car, and craftsmanship! not how I word things as to what is "scratch built" or almost completely scratch built.

ok so new to the forum. from FL some of you I have seen on the scale auto forum and have seen this car. for those of you who have not let me give some back round on me and the car. so I am 25 haven't touched a car in 8 years and this is the first. a lot of the stuff I am doing to this car I have never done, but I have seen it done and took notes and improved some of my "teacher's" methods. the doors and trunk have been cut open and properly hinged with brass, the jambs have been built the frame was scrapped do to a tragic accident (i broke it) and I made one from brass. The motor will be a hemi if i go modern it will be twin turbo. if I go 426 it will be cross ram with aluminum intake pans and valve covers that get plated. the suspension is going to be IFS maybe IRS may do 4 link in the rear still not sure. so here are some pics let me know what you all think.
