  1. Thanks guys, glad you are enjoying it too. The rear panel and taillights are shaping up…
  2. Thanks guys! I thought it was the GeeBee Z that crashed and killed. The wheel pants are scalloped and pinstriped and ready for clear…
  3. I watched Smash Up when it first came out (made for TV movie) and thought it was cheesy then. All slow motion looking just like a Chips chase/crash scenes.
  4. Smash Up On Interstate 5
  5. The hood has been final waxed and buffed. I installed the under hood blanket and added a little dusty dirt to the underside too. I still need to add the tabs to the latches but will do that later since they are delicate as (I learned from knocking them off the nose piece).
  6. Thanks for the kind thoughts and words Greg! 7 Ball shift knob.
  7. Would not surprise me if it is the exact same 9 cylinder Wasp in both kits.
  8. I hadn't even thought about offering them for sale. I figured it was too esoteric of a subject to garner anything more than spectators at best. Plus, the scallop scheme seems to deter some people from building these kits. What's a Betty worth these days?
  9. The kit comes with plastic molded wheels/tires and these optional rubber tires and plastic rims. I sanded the seam off the tires and did some minor re-engineering of the wheel pants and wheels with brass tubing so the wheels can be installed into them after they are painted. The kit has the wheels being sandwiched between the pant halves.
  10. Bettie is correct for Bettie Page. But look at the Russ Heath art. I'm pretty sure it had to do with legal issues...
  11. Primed and final sanded the main stuff that will be shot yellow. I'll put another light uniform coat of the light gray on before shooting the yellow. I'm not sure how well the yellow I plan to use covers different shades.
  12. I'm not sure Bettie was a machine... But that train is the epitome of art deco and goes very well with the lines of the Gee Bee.
  13. Here’s the Betty decal I made. I went with fishnets instead of silk stalking’s.
  14. This will be a fictional version of the famous Gee Bee. Normally it should be red & white, but I am doing it in the colors of the Gee Bee Z, black and yellow, but still following the scallop design of the R-1. I found a Russ Heath drawing inspired by the Dave Stevens graphic novel and have drawn the Betty Page likeness and also will be making decals for the scallops : I’m not making an exact copy of the Heath art, but I intend to keep the theme and overall look. I started with the Williams Bros. 1/32 scale kit. It’s a little rough, but then it’s from the mid ‘70’s. Basic interior assembled as the kit provides; I added the suede-like seat surfaces using flocked plastic from an adult beverage vac-u-formed liner and painted it. (The very green velour was a bit too much for this application.) Most of the clean up has been done...

  16. 2) But don't let my glad expression Give you the wrong Impression Tears Of a Clown - Smokey and the Miracles
  17. To me this is an easy one. (Nobody got the two I already offered up...) After all you've done for me All I really want to do Is take the love you brought my way And give it all right back to you
  18. Thanks guys, glad to share... I added an indent for the license plate so I could add a light for it.
  19. Reach Out / I'll Be There - The Four Tops
  20. Thanks Norm, that is very kind of you to say. Gear shifter. 2.25 inch diameter ball. Same size as a pool ball… Ready for paint.
  21. Why not do some research before heading out to Hobby Lobby? You seem to have a lot of excuses as to why things won't work for you, but you have the internet (obviously) and it has a ton of answers and info that could help you out before heading to the store. There's a lot info right here in fact. At least you could familiarize yourself with a few kits that interest you with the odds being in your favor that at least one would be at the store. You could even call and check if they have a handful of kits you're interested in on hand so you could lessen the chances of learning about something they might not have.
