  1. That seems to be the main complaint I've heard too. This is the under hood area, painted the body color from the top after I pre-shaded it from the bottom then brush painted the details.
  2. Actually, it is a Dylan song. Scalper gets the square. But you're probably thinking of the Springsteen version. And you left out the first word of the Springsteen version so what you actually posted is the Dylan version.
  3. Thanks. I painted the one piece chassis a mix of brown, tan and fluorescent orange. Then I dry brushed silver to lessen the brown tones. Contrast was added by hand brushing some of the molded in details as was a light wash to accent the engraved parts.
  4. Thanks Art. It's the Revell. Says it builds a 2008. Blue car on the box top.
  5. Thanks! I'm not too worried about it being 100% accurate, I have some good reference that shows other issues I'm not going to correct. This one is a quick dry run only to see how the kit builds (assembles) straight from the box so I will know what to address on another one down the road. But that doesn't mean I can't have some fun painting it...
  6. The body was cleaned up and the panel lines scribed a little deeper and the two piece hood was cemented together and the resulting joints were filled before priming. Tamiya Brilliant Orange decanted and airbrushed…
  7. So, a question for all you drummer aficionados... Where do you rank Neil Peart?
  8. Umm...yeah, that sounds exactly like what I thought you mean. Looking up the lyrics to research the title. I thought that would have been considered cheating. So thanks for making my point.
  9. And he is a model car guy as well.
  10. I installed the sway bar and the stabilizer links including the bushings, washers and lock nuts.
  11. Umm, I thought that would be cheating. I guess were not playing by the same set of rules. What's to keep everyone from just googling the lyrics?
  12. Bugs Bunny. Grew up with it. By the way, I think it is called "Overture". So much for not using the title in the clue...
  13. I color sanded the earlier paint and shot the final coats of yellow last night. I’m much happier with the finish now. Also shot the matte clear on the lower side panels and added the mounting hardware.
  14. One of my favorite songs. REM - Don't Go Back to Rockville.
  15. Three Dog Night - Never Been to Spain.
  16. Too Much Time On My Hands - Styx
  17. Thanks guys! For what it's worth, I never stopped working on the Seven. Paint dry times are slowing the progress since I don't want to fit parts to uncured paint. I must say this Subaru kit a one of the easiest kits to throw together. Yes, it is somewhat simplified, but the fit and engineering is fantastic.
  18. Bone stock out-of-the-box. Except for the license plate decals. Mica Blue, from the can, no clear. Fun and easy and very enjoyable little build. WIP Thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93944
  19. Or "And she's..." It's not that the songs are bad, I'm just sick of hearing them, and I have copies of them in my collection. I blame the radio and who ever decided to flood the airwaves. I'll include Dream On as another one I've heard enough of for my lifetime.
  20. I'm with you on that John. Same thing with Stairway to Heaven. Way too over played.
  21. Really...? Freebird.
  22. That's easy... Headknocker. Foreigner.
  23. Thanks Mike. It is a really enjoyable kit. The headlights, taillights and side markers are very well engineered. Not only are the molded in color, the kit includes the chrome foil to back them. But the best part is how easily they install and how clean they look.
  24. This kit so far has been a breeze to build. I decided to not use clear and just wax the Mica Blue. I painted the window trim and the panel lines. Looks like it’s ready to assemble…
  25. Thanks a lot Gary. The side panels have the base color coat done. Still need to clear coat them before adding the mounting hardware, (that I also still need to make…).
