Well as i promised you guys months ago!!lLol Between my farm and my future wife !! Here we go This started out as a glue bomb i bought off ebay it was really ugly the sleeper i replaced it was melted from glue and the whole truck was flat black with the can-do stripes backwards i noticed this as the decals didnt match the sleeper handles!! Well anyway i stripped this whole thing down to the frame which was crooked and warped!!Then i started working stripping all the paint which was flat black!! And nasty arcylic colors! Then i started rebuilding and sanding the cab body, hood rebuilt the frame made the tag axle functional up and down . Opened and hinged all the compartments made them functional!! And made the sleeper doors open and the roof of sleeper! Then i unglued all the down riggers and rotater boom which was glued and non - functional so i have the the hood ,cab and sleeper decaled and clear coated havent got to the bed it is next!! Thanx to jardas pics of his can--do wrecker pics I think Iam getting the decals in the proper place Here we go guys heres pics from when i started to where i am at now The recent pics are just mock ups

that truck looks good but i think it looks to much like built out of the box??Throw some chrome goods on their or some decals or a frame stretch or maybe even some straight stacks i bought a couple of these trucks the one i made into a 110'' inch sleeper stretched the frame put 8 inch straight stacks and chrome 8 holes and a drop visor the other one i built almost stock except i put a custom paint job and chrome wheels in the front and dayton spokes in the rear looks pretty good not to cut u down or anything i just think these astro and titans lack detail they look alot better with chrome and detail but to each their own hope you dont take it the wrong way still looks good -
Well heres how it gos I started out with a built glue bomb I bought off evil bay for 50 bucks that was about destroyed from glue and arcrylic paint and painted black with the can-do decals not a good combo!!!lol So i spent about 4 days striping paint and carefully dissasembling!! Which i was using a few choice words in the processs!! BUt anyway ihave the cab and sleeper painted and striped I had to use a new sleeper the other one was to far gone from glue!! Now comes the wrecker body I cut and hinged all the compartment doors and the sleeper doors which was a real biotch next in line is I am going to make the 2 compartments left and right into control panels which I have to build yet Then I am going to make all the forks and 5th wheel attachment for the wheel lift!! and also the rear air lines and light bar for a truck in tow!!lol I was going to do the air line chasis thing but im to burned out for that and i thought about lighting it but nah to much for now!!Hhttp://plastimodelki...terbilt-wrecker The only thing i am hung up on is this has a cummins and the real truck has a cat i painted it tan cummins color I dont have a cat to put in it so should I paint the cummins cat yellow???? But anyway how do i post pics on here ????I can get some progress pics in the next couple days I also made the tag axle operational it goes up and down Ifigured it was cheaper to experiment on a 50 dollar evilbay build then 300-500 on a new kit like some evilbay people are asking:::

pete3522 replied to pete3522's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I had a airbrush when i modeled as a kid it seemed more trouble then it was worth with the new spray paints out think with a little patience you get as good of a result if not better -

Kenworth K100 "High-Ballin'" movie ?s
pete3522 replied to 69A-CAR's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
i watched that movie today on netflix which i saw before but this time i watched carefully I noticed when they did the car cariier bridge deal and they let air out of the tires when they re air the tires on the tractor you can see that this is a bag suspension and not spring would be a easy truck to duplicate has dayton spokes on the rear and chrome wheels on the front Half rear fenders painted red, Amt k-123 kit would work with some mods depends how technical you want it to be? -

Decals and clear coating
pete3522 replied to pete3522's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Another thing i was concerned about was clearcoat on white and decals I have read forums on this that after a while the clear on white would yellow? And also decals discoloring?? I dont have much expierence with white or decals I usually paint my stripes i dont use many decals most of my trucks are darker metalic colors -
