  1. the amt k-123 with sleeper cut off and alot of plastistruct one thing the sleeper or motorhome parts all straight should be easy to build one big frame stretch!!lol One thing i need is the length of the motorhome part and the wheelbase length so i can scale it down maybe i can get that somehow???
  2. cool johnny maybe that would be cool with the dash in the back gear shift and steerin wheel !! 2 corvette dashes
  3. Thanx you can buy the gold decals off model trucken i tried to make them but i couldnt get it scaled right and i read on forums about this that the decals wouldnt set right due to the rivet heads on the sleeper. So after many attempts of painting and redoing i got the gold to look decent im not happy with the pinstriping but it came out decent i noticed my pic dont do it justice i put alot of clear coat on it thats why it looks like theres putty on it !! I am more of a fabricater then a photrographer lol!! But if i were you i would use the amt w-925 like i did the revell kw w-900 hood is to long plus the sleeper is 60" you wood have to use an amt 36" sleeper if you need anymore info let me know be glad to help
  4. its on petterbilt 389 proboards under emergency vehicles wouldnt let me paste the link but i copied the pics here they are
  5. I saw one done either here in the emergency vehicle section or scale firehouse they basiclly took 2 cabs glued them together then used body filler to fill the gaps it looks pretty cool its a tandem heavy rescue truck.I have 3 or 4 pete 359 revell snap cabs i bought off a evil bay parts lot someone cut the sleepers off so they would be perfect.I dont think it would look right as a road tractor but i have a amt wrecker kit i was thinken about doin it with i dont know if i will put a bunk behind that on top of it that would be one long wheelbase!!!lol If i find that truck i will post the link
  6. I was thinking of trying to build this in the future i thought about the mack first. but i kinda like this better and it will be easier and cheaper
  7. Has anyone ever seen a 359 like this i have a bunch of revell snap together cabs i was thinking about building this??i have a new amt wrecker kit i was going to put a 63"sleepr on it but i thought i might try this instead!! Wanted to see what you guys think??
  8. Heres an amt w-925 i bought off e-bay and redid hope the pic helps you out i still need to do the exhaust and intake plumbing
  9. You could make your own out of small brass or steel tubing alot of tutoriarls in the information section
  10. Nicely done!! By the way my can-do makin some awesome progress as soon as its done i will kick out the pics!! By the way have to agree with you the decals sucked luckily i got a hold of 2 sets!!
  11. heres a amt kw925 i got off ebay was goin to make it te movin on kw changed my mind after trying printing decals i decided to paint it !! never did finish the exaust or air cleaner plumbing lol your truck looks great keep up the good work!!!
  12. ###### best work i have seen on here so far you have all the other pro truck builders in silence they usually get excited over a little bit of puttyif it involves one of their click members!!lol
  13. i have seen a few but all had sleepers i have yet to see a day cab
  14. i am eventually going to buy and build one i will deal with the issues kind of makes it a challenge
  15. It seems as all these models have issues it just takes paitence and time even a snap together has issues one thing cool about plastic is you can cheat it aint like the real thing where it would really count
  16. k thanks for your advice and opinions
  17. I also found ot that this kit has alot of 379 parts but also give you frame and wheel and other options to build this kit as a road tractor. But i guess some couldnot recognive this that is why none of the parts match up?????????????Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  18. or i have a can-do wrecker body could elimanate the sleeper add a axle make it into a o'hara wrecker????? Lots of options
  19. I had a few thoughts on this one was to stretch the the frame which i ruled out cause the body farings wouldnt match up??The other one was to chop the top roof make it all even? ???????? Or leave it be dress it up with some straight stacks and some cb aerials and a rear chrome bumber and some black and red kw flaps not sure what to do with this?? Any opinions are greatly welcomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. we had one like that in our fire dept but i think it was newer 1955 big job i think it was flathead v-8 5-2 speed we used that truck for battle of the barrel would draft and pump all day without a issue
  21. Happy holidays to all and all opinions are valued thanx guys!!
  22. ty it still has along way to but as you can see its getting there i was going to do the the airline wiring thing as you do but between all the the body work i am just letting that go for now and as in your forum the small etched decals suck but i made a post on another forum i belong to and got 2 decal sheets so i had a little more room for errors which helped but as you can see i havent got to the wrecker body yet between me opening the doors and alot more of those etched stipes it could be trying???lol
  23. I think i have more fun restoring and customizing these trucks then building them out of the box its alot more affordable !! But i learn alot from you people and value your opinions so let me know good or bad its all good!! Ihave a 379 itareli still in the box i never built!! A old western star i bought in pieces i havent built! A revell aerodyne cabover which needs rebuilt missing alot but it has future plans to be the bj and the bear kw!! lol
