  1. That looks mighty fine, Ron. Paint looks nice and the detailing is #1. That color just about wants to suck my eyeballs out of my head! LOL
  2. Thanks for your kind words, Bill. Lord willing, we'll be at Heartland. That's the plan... Thank you, so much, Roy! I appreciate your encouragement, Darryl. YOU do such nice work, so it means a lot. I've done better the last few nights not dwelling on this when I should have been asleep. I think trying to get ready for the KC show has worn me out and kept me from getting my mind so wrapped up with this project.
  3. You've done a beautiful job on your build. I, too, would love to see some engine pics when you've got time.
  4. Did you know there is a 1/12th Liberty trans on Shapeways, now?
  5. Sort of figured... But hey! There's no harm in asking... LOL
  6. Wow! That's looking great, Tyrone... How did you make the clear air box on the engine?
  7. Thanks Jason. Just as an fyi, I'm using around .080" size cage tubing for most of my Fairmont build, so it's not like there's anything wrong with going a bit oversize, even though it isn't quite as accurate to scale. For us not-quite-so-young guys, working with the larger tubing is a bit easier; at least it is for me.
  8. Everything looks good so far, Brandon. Keep up the nice work!
  9. Hey Tyrone. I agree. I think the wheel screws will add to the overall effect. Bill - Do not drop; do not drop; do not drop - Now I just hope repeating that mantra works! LOL I appreciate it, Larry... Thanks Brad!
  10. Jason, You've done an excellent job of fitting your bars together so there aren't gaps. That is an accomplishment, in and of itself. It's looking good, my friend!
  11. LOL! I'll see if I can try to squeeze a couple in on upcoming PE orders (and IF I don't forget! NOT LOL!)
  12. Your wheels look super, Joe! For a first-time effort, you should be really happy with them. If you decide you don't want 'em, send 'em to me! LOL
  13. Phenomenal work, Chris. Speaking of rivet counting, how many have you installed in this project so far??? LOL Seriously, I'm sort of curious - now that I've broached the subject... You'll have to let us know when it's all done!
  14. Thanks Bill. I'm looking forward to getting back down to KC and seeing you! Thank you, so much, Ron. If I don't drop it again and cause another setback, I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out so far. Lost too much sleep last night thinking about how to attach the tin in the front end, make a wing for the deck lid, mount the PE trans tunnel so it's removable, finish the grille, and how to proceed with cutting out/finishing/hinging the door(s). No wonder I'm sleepy today... LOL
  15. Thanks for the heads up, James!
  16. Hey guys (and gals), Time for an update. Lots to report. I got one step closer to finishing the roll cage tonight. Got the diagonal bars into the trunk area fitted to the chassis and tied into the X bar that goes from the main hoop to the top of the shock mounts. Different angle Forgot last time I posted pics of the rear diagonal work - this is what I did to positively locate the rear frame rail tubing to allow removal while fitting everything else. And here's the cage out of the car Also started repair work on the front frame rails. As you may recall, I dropped the chassis several months ago and popped two cross members out of it and broke the passenger side top strut mount. Finally got a new cross member installed tonight. I'm going to extend the chassis forward, slightly, to fit the radiator, which is why there are some stubs forward of the cross member. The last thing to report for now is that I got a PE template made the last time I placed an order so I could drill my rear wheels for rim screws. I know it's old school, but my mind is still in the 70s and 80s. LOL The wheels will have rim screws on both front and rear sides.
  17. Thanks Mike. That's what I'm shooting for... I appreciate your encouragement, Jason. I like your Mustang build you've currently got going. Here's to hoping you put a Ford power plant in it... Thanks Bill. Lord willing, I'm planning to be there. I sent my check for table rent in. I'm looking forward to being there. Got lots of new stuff since last year!
  18. Very sharp, Tyrone. I'm loving it! And I've always been partial to grays, so that color is right up my alley...
  19. I don't have any words to describe what I'm seeing here... Okay, here are a couple: You're incredibly creative, Rom.
  20. Thanks Romell. I've got all kinds of ideas about what I want to do with this build. Just a matter of time seeing how well I can execute them... To answer your question, I am working on both a 1/16th scale Frontrunner as well as Pro Mod slicks, both of which are intended to fit Jim's MicroNitro wheels. Thanks for the kind words, Bradley. I appreciate the encouragement...
  21. Thank you, Ron. I'm appreciating your roll cage build-up thread. Very nice work you're doing there, too...
  22. Thanks Dave. In reality it will reinforce the center part of the trunk floor and also serve as a stand for the frame rail tubing. The fuel cell is going to be housed between the frame rails, and possibly an electrical cut-off.
