  1. Good to have you on board. The more the merrier. Can't wait to see some of your work.
  2. Just got my issue of the latest Model Cars Magazine (show/contest coverage). Haven't gone through it yet, but can't wait to see what's in there. From the little I did look at, looks like some great stuff. I kinda want to read a little at a time to savor it .
  3. Really nice. Never really been a huge Ford fan, but that last Mustang I do like a lot. You did that one justice!
  4. Thanks for the compliment, Darin & Bob! In another post, Gregg was asking me about my son B.J. That car was actually built about the time he was coming into this worl. There was a license plate with "B.J." on the tag, but at a GoodGuys show in Charlotte, someone picked up the car, the license plate fell of, and I've just never made another one. That project you have going there is super cool. I'm more of a Cevy guy, but the cuda is one of my favorites. What you are doing really works well with the lines and all. As for inspiration...so many of you guys inspire me and selflessly provide tips, that I'm always anxious to share the little bit of information I have. After all, that's what our hobby is about. Like Mark Jones has in his signature line, "...build it for yourself..." TTYL
  5. Looking really good there, Mark!
  6. Yup, Rowdy, that's me. It's funny you mentioned Flashbacks as I was thinking about Steve the other day and wondering what he's doing up in Ole Canada.
  7. Thanks for thinking about me. I was telling Dave (CarModDave), that I've been dealing with a little health problem (not too serious, Graves disease). I had some radiation treatment about a month ago, so things seem to be progressing okay. I can't wait to get back to building. As for some of what I've been upto, I haven't finished much of antyhing. I do believe you've seen the top fuel bike I was working on when you and I last spoke (and of course the pro stock bug). Other than that, I have some things on the bench, but nothing completed. As soon as I get a chance, I'll post some pics of the projects. B.J. is doing great! I can't believe you remembered his name, but then again, you and Jairus are real stand-up kind of guys and always seem gnuine. I remember when we first met in Birmingham and you guys took the time to spend with me. That is one of my most memorable days in the hobby yet! However, it isn't only B.J. now. We went ahead and got a girl too. Haven't done any models in her name, yet (Parker). I hope we get to chat a little more than we did before. Im not always good with keeping in touch with folks, but am trying to be a little better at it. TTYL!
  8. Hey, Gregg! I've since moved to Orlando, but am still trying to get back to my original roots of Atlanta. Good to hear from you and thanks for the forum!!!!!!!! Hope all is well with you.s
  9. I've posted a few post, but haven't introduced myself yet. I figured I would make it official. Those of you that do know me, know me as Dirk Joseph. ScrappyJ was nick name they gave me while in the Army some 20+ years ago ('82-'86). Good to see this forum growing. I've been waiting for it and when I saw it, was truly happy. Tell your friends, everyone.
  10. Great job on both! I know you will hit it right on the nail, Dave. Can't wait to see the final piece.
  11. Looking good, Dave!
  12. Nice rebuild. I was told, at one time, that if a person is going to rebuild, they should just start over. They probably have a point, but I always get a kick out of rebuilding an old model to see the difference with my improved skills.
  13. Every time I see your work, I'm simply amazed. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your work and your knowledge!
  14. Another great job, Bob! Oh...BTW, thanks for all the mentoring on my paint jobs back in the day in ATL!
  15. As always, great build, Bob! You always seem to capture these type of graphting projects so well (like the el-camaro...that was sweet too) 8) .
  16. Looking good Darin. Can't wait to see it finished. I like the art rendering too.
  17. Haven't heard from you in quite a while, Gregg! I hope all is well. Thank you to you and Jarius for the forum. I just hope some more folks join in the fun!!!
  18. Hey Dave! You probably haven't seen me on some other forums in a while. I've been dealing with a little health issue. I think I'm back on the road to recovery, but it has been a slow process. I'm glad to see Model Cars has a forum and you are on it. Hope to chat soon.
