Thanks for the compliments, guys! No worries, Bob! As you know, I just love building models. I've said this many times, but thank you for taking the time way back in '96 to tutor me on painting. I still, to this day, think back to your tutorial and my conversations with David Morton when prepping, painting and rubbing my paint jobs. What is cool is that I use pretty much everything that folks have thought me every time I build. I think of Pat Covert and Tommy May and their conversations about me taking my time and executing well; I think back to Bob Kornouw and Bob dudek with their guidance on machining; and I continue to learn. As well as many that have taught me something through the years. This time, I was able to incorporate soldering and chome plating conversations that I had with Bob Jernnigan. Not to mention seeing all the fine works-of-art that I have been fortunate to see in the hobby (some of my favorites: Tommy's white pro-street truck, Tim's pink chevy station wagon, Ricky's purple mid-engine truck, Randy Derr's Sunoco Camaro, to name a few on a very long list). What I like most about this hobby is learning and sharing techniques with felow modelers and meeting some really cool people. Lyle- Coming from you and the quality of your projects, it is quite an honor to receive such a compliment from you. Nick- That is exactly the look I was going for. I like subtle ques, but know that you wouldn't want to mess with that car on the street. I like Nova's too. My all time favorite is the '69 Camaro, but the '66 Nova is second on my list. John- The Year One car was definetly the inspiration for this project, but unfortunately I didn't do any of the styling quest that they had. I thought about it, but wimped out. I did, however, get my hands on some PPG Astec Gold that a friend (Mike Alvarez) had. By the way, your bikes are simply bad... Tim- It's always good to see you! I wish that Tommy could have made it and Dave and I are hoping to get to B'gham this year and spend some time with the MCCM guys.

This one is 95% scratch-built. The upper and lower control arms (A arms) and the rear trailing arms are all brass. I polished them and plated them using Casswell's Coyp Chrome plating system. It is a lot easier than one would think. The Copy Chrome systme uses distilled water and a very low voltage source (I even had my hand in the tank at one time and coudln't feel a thing). The radiator, roll cage and some other items were also made out of brass and then chrome-plated.

Thanks for the compliments, John and Aleks! John- I have one more that I was working on, but haven't finished it yet. It is based, sort of, on the Billy Lane concept. I hope to have it done shortly.

Really nice work you got there, John! I like 'em all!

This is my '66 Nova I have been working on for about a year. I have a hard time finding time to do "in progress" photos, so I apologize. You can find other pics in my fotki. I hope you guys enjoy:

These are pics. of my 1/18 scale choppers. The bikes are mostly scratch built. They were built about 2 & 1/2 years ago, and then my good friend Dave Morton and I were going to cast them in resin. Then RM came out with their line of bikes, the project was scrapped, and I finally got a chance to finish them this year. I believe, only the tires, inner rims, motor block, transmission case & brake rotor are from the 1/18 Jesse James diecast (even though all of them were heavily modified). The rest, the cylinder jugs, heads, covers, primary set-up, fenders, frames, gas tanks, handle bars, foot and hand controls, were all fabricated using either brass, aluminum, plastic, vaccum forming, etc. Most everything was either chorme-plated by Little Motor Kar company, machined from aluminum, or brass that was polished and chromed. I hope you guys like them: More pics. on my fotki

Looking good, Bill...you should be proud!

Looking good, Mike! I like the stance and wheel combo on both. What colors are you looking at?
-
Bill- Nice work. I just sent you a private message on the forum. DBJ

Nice build you've got going there, Steve! I like the name too. The white-walls and all make it sort of formal like is would be wearing a tux and a top hat (Topper?).

Looking good, Tom!

Being on the East coast, I won't get to see these in person, but wanted to express my thoughts: Bill- Great job on the engine! Clean and nicely detailed. Hope the rest of the model(s) will look as good. Hail HIM. Martin- Great job as usually! Your ability to do the, not too common subject, is uncanny! -
Can't wait to see the rotary version. However, this one is really nice too! Got any more pictures of this one? Great job all the way around!
-
Nice and clean!
-
That has got to be one of the smoothest builds I've seen! SWEET!
-
William- Those are actually an alternator and a oil pump. I wish I had taken better pictures of those (particularly before I put it together) as I machined both peices. The alternator is made from about 5 pieces and the oil pump from 4. Hail Rasta...Selassie I!
-
I actually scratch built the entire chassis and then I scratched the lower control arms for some coil-overs. It was a rebuild from about '97 so I stayed with that set up.
-
Can't wait to see this one come together. I'm from St. Thomas, USVI and can appreciate the rotarys the brother in PR build. When it come to Rotatys, I don't think there are many that can mess with the PR contingent. Hopeully this one will have a rotary, Marcos.

I hought it look familiar, but couldn't put my finger on it. I actually have one that I used as the belt for the primary on my top fuel bike. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Again, great bike! One of the best that I've seen (at least for my taste).

That is one heck of a paint job there, Brian!

32 Ford... Do you think this is too subtle? Update 3/15/07

That is bad a$$! -
I like the stance and cowl. I have one that I'm rebuilding and am basing it on (loosely) the year one '66. Can;t wait to see more of yours.

Cool! It even has a COE look to it. By the way, where is the enging going to be?
