I got a few of these at Hobby Lobby in the bracelet section, seem to be the proper size for 1:24.
Yes, I KNOW it is a boat but I spent 9 yrs on 2 of them and this is the first one I have found of it.
Some updates from today
I redid the wiring on this, I hope it looks better now
First coat of primer, been sitting for a week, should be ready for sanding.
Going to use Model Master Grabber Orange, closest I could find to match the online pics.
I just hope that they pull their heads out of their butts soon or there will be no Nascar left. The powers that be seem more interested in sponsorship money over good racing. I'm watching more F1 now than Nascar because it is so fun to watch. I can only hope that Mark Martin has a far better season this year than last year.
Quick update, I changed the wiring for the engine and put the first coat of primer on the body, I do have one question, How long should I wait after spraying primer before sanding? I will post pics later today on the new progress.
Thanks for the info!! Even though it means reworking the engine I really want it to be accurate. What size fishing line would be proper scale? Are there any good pics around that might give me a clue as to how the engine bay really looks?
It has been many yrs since I've built anything, I found this kit at a local thrift store for $2.
It has been very hard to find any reference pics for this but the few I have found each show different set ups.
A very quick mock up
My attempt at some kit bashing with adding wire for the shocks and other detail wires.
Let me know what you think, good or bad
