  1. This is my one and only ride, I got it back in Oct '10 and have almost 6000 miles on her now. It has a 1.6L w/ turbo, CVT, FWD And just to confuse people around here........
  2. I just got some more P/E for this kit (like I need more frustration ) I will show the 2 different sets and a couple of the differences. This is the WEM set This is the Yankee set Now for a couple of differences, notice the thickness of the main radar. First one is the WEM then the Yankee. The instructions for the Yankee are a bit sparse compared to the WEM. The Yankee set has items on the sheet that are NOT covered in the instructions such as these Whale Boat parts (#5) The detail of some others parts vary also such as the fire hoses and life-rings. The railing is a bit different on each sheet but between the 2 of them it should result in a higher level of detail. The Yankee set has both masts but I'm not sure I'll use them as I think P/E masts look "flat" instead of having some depth. As always Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.
  3. Welcome back to the hobby and to this forum. That is a very clean looking build, good detail. Keep us posted
  4. Here is a link to a nice conversion program for modelers. My link
  5. I always look at any updates you post but don't always post on each one. Just keep up the great work. I enjoy seeing the solutions you use to fix problems with this kit.
  6. Congrats!! I entered my first contest this yr also. Lots of fun, it gives me ideas for next yr.
  7. Stunning work!! I sure would like to see more.
  8. Welcome back to the hobby You are doing a great job and i will be watching this build. I just started back into the hobby after a 15yr break and I'm having a blast. See if there is a IPMS chapter near you, great resource.
  9. I've had a busy month but I finally got my air brush, It is a Paasche H w/ compressor. Plus I picked up a bunch of paints and extra bottles. I have also gotten an Academy FFG-7 w/ P/E and resin, a Hasegawa Egg Plane, a Revell P-51 Mustang, a Tamiya Lotus Type 79 w/ P/E, a Tamiya McLaren MP4/7 plus a bunch of Evergreen and other supplies. So much for this being a cheap hobby
  10. Some more work on the hull, it was all wrong for this class. I wish I knew why Academy made it like this. The keel stabilizer groves were filled in and then the parts modified and remounted, the gyro controlled fin stabilizers will mount behind the new parts The rudder post is in the wrong place, I will shift it over to the stbd by 2' My attempt at making the fin stabilizers, I glued 4 pieces of .08 evergreen together and then eyeballed the shape and size Something I work on while the ship drys, this is for a club "3 inch base" contest. It is a F-4 eggplane.
  11. If the kit is as bad as you say it is you sure made a nice batch of lemon-aid out that lemon I could only wish to do that good with a great kit.
  12. I'll blame being warped to 14 yrs in the Navy This kit will require some modification to fit the real one, I'll be building to the Oliver Hazard Perry as I was on her.
  13. Started this one the other day, working on making the hull correct. Any comments are welcome and Thanks for looking. Damaged frames from the mold What I'm using Compared to original it looks pretty good. A couple of pieces will need fixing. Some extra parts I got, the detail is awesome. Again, Thanks for looking
  14. My question would be is how would you duplicate the coloring of those pipes in scale? My next car project will most likely be a Lotus Type 79 and I'd like the exhaust to look real.
  15. I got this from my first ever contest :D
  16. Fantastic attention to detail! I have the Revell Enzo kit so it will be interesting to see the differences. You are truly a Master.
  17. For a first time they are pretty darn good, Tell her to keep it up and that everyone one is a learning experience. What will be her next builds?
  18. Absolutely stunning work!!! How is the training going for the mouse that will be driving this? The DMV will be wanting you to license this if they see it.........
  19. Nice work! I just finished one myself, any detail work on the engine?
  20. One of the best ones I've seen here. Was there a reference car for this?
