  1. My first real car was a 1963 Impala with a 283, 4 barrel, 4 speed and a 456 rear. Red with black roll n pleat interior.
  2. I agree, nice color choice!
  3. This model was started by John when he was 13 years old. John died shorty after he started this model in 1976. The model was stored in the box until recently when his father asked me to complete the assembly. When I received the model it was painted and partially assembled. I've left as much of John's work as I could.
  4. Now look what you've gone and done......... Incredible!
  5. I'll be happy to help. I'll even bring pizza..........
  6. Very nice build. I had something a little like that back in High School Hey, tires were cheap back in 1969.........
  7. This is the spray booth............ I built this a few years ago and vented it through an old wood stove chimney. This is the work area........
  8. What Raceway is the bumper sticker from? My eyes are older than the car......
  9. Outside picture and engine shots. I think I could us some photography lessons but here ya go. The lilac pearl looks pretty sharp in the sunlight but it just doesn’t show that well in the photograph.
  10. Thanks for all the nice comments. I was pulling my hair out on this one for a while but I’m happy with the way it turned out. MikeMc, Color balance…. I shot most of these pictures with a halogen light which must have caused the orange cast. The one picture that’s light was taken without any light or flash. I’ll try some sunlight. Thanks.
  11. I saw this ad in a magazine and thought it would make a sharp 2 door wagon. The black paint is Model Car World, the lower paint is silver metallic with lilac pearl from House of Color, the gold strip is also from House of Color. The grill is photo etch from Model Car Garage. The bumper and headlights are painted with Alclad II.
  12. Thanks. The 1:1 car is beautiful. This photo was taken last summer.
  13. I built a similar model a couple of years ago to replicate a car owned by a friend of mine. He’s wanted one ever since. We'd go to car shows and he'd always check out the die cast vendors but they never had the correct color combination. I started to build this car months before his 60th birthday but couldn’t find the time to get it completed in time for the party. A few months later I finally presented to him. I hate giving models away but I’m sure he’ll appreciate it. The paint is Tahitian Turquoise from Model Car World, photo etch is from Model Car Garage, the wheels are from Competition Resins and painted with Alclad, the tires are from Replicas and Miniatures’ of Maryland. When I built the first car (on right) his car had rally wheels and white letter tires. During the time I was building he changed the wheels and tires to Draglites and redline tires. The car on the left was built as his car is now.

  20. I built this to replicate a car belonging to a friend of mine in high school. Always loved that orange 57.
