MPC '69 Dodge Daytona..Ze' Devil of plastic
n8dogginz replied to n8dogginz's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Correction i believe its 10-12 gauge speaker wire. -
Ok guys, got that camera cord....Idk how much this will update, i have quite afew hobbies and the last few days i have been playin Battlefield 3, and whoever else plays it get at me well squad up! I also play guitar, and work on 1/1's when i get a good excuse to do so! Anyways this model is somethin else, im going to mold the whole front on then re-scribe it because it dont fit together at all. Found a GREAT way to make hinges that leave the hood propped when wanted, instead of brass tubing use 16 gauge speaker wire stripped from its wire with 18 gauge copper wire Hemi and the stockers washed Noticec the hood problem addressed before, gonna try to melt some styrene Borgis suggested to me, well see what happens. ANTONIO WERE GUNNA HAVE US SOME HEADACHES TO ADDRESS! BTW im pretty much goin curbside with this nasty thing, i shaved an impala chassis down and it didnt work out so i said to heck with it and shaved the engine bay/firewall and its just going to be a clean build of a terribad kit, well see what happens!

MPC '69 Charger Daytona or "polishing a t*rd"
n8dogginz replied to Tonioseven's topic in WIP: Model Cars
So ive got the motor built, building a distributor as we speak and hinged the hood, did you address the back of the hood? The corners dont come to a point and im trying to brainstorm how to go about that issue, as filler would probably snap the first time i touch it. No cord btw and its driving me insane! I have a feeling my post before this inspired you to take a stab at this thing. KEEP IT COMING! -
What is that tool your using to blackwash???

Man if i could only find my camera cord!!!!! I could hi jack your thread and we could group tackle this thing, got the hemi built, went with the 'custom' option with double pumper carbs and waitin as we speak for blackwash to dry on the velocity stacks. Keep on keepin on! Eventually the boogeyman will gimme mah camera cord back! -
You up and left it without taking your glass upstairs!??! My ol' lady would issue a whoopin on that stunt.

Well played, good sir.

Just looked through my stash and the only chassis that arent already spoken for are from 2 impalas, both are too wide. Ive got a great candidate from a lowrider El Camino but we'll see, still throwing ideas around. And for you guys that said you do have pics post em up! If thats not a burden too anyone.. i seen this kit and needed it(also hobbylobby had 30% off so it was like 12 bucks) and i AM going to stand by it, so inspirate me!!
-
LOL! I think im guna put this one on the back burner and bust out my buddies old glue bomb S-10 Extreme. Thanks for lending me some words and letting me know im not crazy for giving up after an hour.

Eh, the least i could do for it is make a Joe Dirt curbside....you know for that movie they destroyed a MINT Daytona and weathered it?!?! The least they could have done is pop the good parts off and found old ones, jeesh. Either way im still interested to see if anyones done this thing justice....
-
Ok this kit is pretty terrible, and was wondering if anyone ever took a shot at it and if you have post me some inspirational pics, cuz im bout to throw this thing on the shelf being 1 hour old, ive been cutting flash off the chassis the whole time, and this is my break to vent. It has absolutely no detail, the engine halves dont fit together correctly, and the body has massive ejector pins still attached with one of them bent so bad the body is caving in! I would post pics but i scoured my whole house to find my camera cable, and the boogeyman apparenlty made a successful snatch on that one. Any pics you can post are gunna make my day...Thanx!

Do you know who Norman E. Timbs is? Updated Dec 13, 2011
n8dogginz replied to Peter Lombardo's topic in WIP: Model Cars
When this post is done the under glass pictures are gunna be a new candidate for my computer wallpaper, this is simply amazing. THEN you gotta do another one in the theme of how it was found in the boneyard! -
You made it sound so terrible in explaining it, it looks HAWT!
-
Don't try to slide across that hood, thats shiney!
-
Thats a nice combo ya got there....question though, whats with the quarters in the rear floorboard?
-
Thats pretty awesome, props and welcome to the sight.

How did you make the engine fan kick on?!?!??! Also props on the lights, is it all on a controller? -
The story behind it is awesome, and it turned out great! Id have my 4 year old help me out on a build but he likes to break stuff when i turn my head, so the build would probably be under his foot the second i took eyes off him. Ill give it another year.
-
jeez......thats pretty intense modeling right there. Do you keep your all your builds? If not i wanna see a diary of builds of yours soon, ive only been a member for like 6 months and since i got to this website ive been following your builds with my jaw jacked open everytime! Keep up the mass amounts of crazy sauce, ill be here to watch!
-
I too am very displeased at the fact that its done.... i too have been checking the WIP every day...but its gorgeous. The details just kept coming!! I really hope to see another 1/12 build from you, its amazing how much detail you can put in when the parts are actually big enough to see, makes me wonder where Romell went with that daytona pro stock, anyone know what happened to that? Or him?
