...or this...
That's a photoshop of my mate's actual van.

Been great watching this come together.
Very educational and well done.

Very cool concept

Beautiful build, makes me want to drag my kit out and build it.

The Monaro (aka Pontiac GTO) was a really nice car when they intro'd it here back then, but GM dropped the ball (as usual) and didn't advertise and upgrade the car fast enough after the intro. The equally nice Commodore (aka Pontiac G8) is a car that I truly lust after, and as you said Bill-------they sound absolutely terrific on the road.
Sadly, Pontiac is gone and all those cars with it. Chevy offers the SS now, which is nothing more than the G8 reborn-----but with a pricetag of $43,000+ I won't be getting one anytime soon!
Yeah the Chevy SS is just a rebadged Holden Commodore as was the G8. I actually think our Commodore utes would sell ok over there if they didn't price them out of the market.

Good to see some interest in Aussie cars, we made quite a few nice cars over the years.

Yeah Brakekleen and tyre smoke smell great but I wouldn't make a regular habit of inhaling either.

Seriously?

Got to agree with you on this one. (First time for everything)

Yep in a big way!

I've got all the 1/20 MPC vans (I think) got 11 different ones.
I'm keen to get a few of these, I'll mould the 2WD bits out of my other kits if I need to convert them.
Bet the guy that one this the other week is happy they're reissuing it too.

Perfect Bruce. I've got a soft spot for vans and this hits it well and truly mate.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement guys, glad you like it, I think Bill will too.
To answer the questions,
the paint is Holts Duplicolour Red Mica with Repco(Aussie car parts retailer)clear over it. According to the bloke at Repco their paint is made by Holts and just put in different cans.
The grass is static grass, railroad guys and wargammers use it a fair bit. You can buy it online and even make your own applicator out of a electric fly swatter. It's easy to do and the results look great. Here's a video of how it works, I use longer grass than her and a bigger zapper. (Mines got some boot!)

Finally finished this, better late than never, made for a mate to give to a mate.
Not an exact replica but close enough, I made a quick base for it since the guy getting it (Bill) doesn't build models and my experience with non modellers is they usually break them picking them up so he can grab this by the base to move it.
Started as the ZZ Top coupe, different wheels and brakes, RHD conversion, aluminium ram tubes. Edelbrock covers with leads sticking out of them because the real car has a LS style motor.
Tail lights got painted red after pics.

I picked up one of those as well; the body looks like I could improve it by cutting it vertically just behind the door almost to the top of the doors and spreading it apart at the bottom, sticking a wedge in wide enough to take out the kink in the body and filling it in. Anyone tried to fix this issue?
How was the R&R vacuum craft '58 for accuracy?

She's a big rig with a huge sleeper mate.
