Wow!!! great model. Not my cup of tea, but it looks very well executed.

Thanks again guys. You want to hear the crazy part? It was built in 10 days. Not much sleep for those 10 days, but it got done.
-
Thank you. These are not even half of my '32 projects..............unfortunately. As for the B400 I will "beat it" into submission, until it fits onto the fenders and frame of the Revell '32 three window.

Absolutely beautiful work. The dash turned out great and so did the body. I would put some carpet in it though.

You are absolutely correct about the eliminator. It is a '33. Now I may attract some criticism, but to me personally the Beach boys' little deuce is as much a deuce as their music is rock'n roll. To me personally ZZ Top are like the epitome of cool and a great background while working on Street Rods, while the BB (I respect them for what they are) are rather annoying after the third song. This is just me.

I think it looks really cool with these wheels. Now if you just make a modern looking air filter "cap" it would be wayyyy cool. Love the color combo too.
-
Ha ha ha Thanks bandit, but I think that ZZ Top are doing just fine for now.

Paint it whatever your heart tells you. Since it is so smooth and modern on the outside, I would make it a nice red and just put a couple of white stripes on the fender (ala Grand sport) to give a subtle nod to the Corvette parts in it

Hi, guys. I am really new on here and on my second stretch with the hobby. I gave it a rest for like ...8 years. The very first thing I did, when I decided to get back into the plastic kit building, was to go to a contest to "set my watch" as we say in Bulgaria (where I am originally from). What better place that the Heartland Nationals to do that? While there I found out that next years theme is going to be my favorite subject - '32 Ford. So I exploded with ideas and started choping a lot of stuff. I also bought my very first ever resin body. So here is going to be a thread from Hot Rod heaven. I have plans for everything- from rat rods, to traditional, to ultra modern. Hope you enjoy. Here are the current few Here is an easy take on the Phantom Vicky form AMT. It has Alluma Coupe wheels and some aftermarket interior bits, but other than that it is OOB. I liked playing with the idea of having a "billet rod" with barely any chrome on it. The whole thing was made to try the "new" one coat finishes from Testors. I am not very happy with them. This is a very standard 3 window coupe in green primer. I will stay this way and most likely receive the engine from the 5 window kit and the wheel/tire combo from the roadster kit. I have the vision in my head of its front bumper scraping the ground. 100% illegal in California and certifiably cool. This is going to be as Phantom as they get. A highboy woody convertible (vicky?)'32. I want it to be very modern, but with traditional styling. We'll see what happens... This is as wild as I can think of interpretation of a rod that started as '32 Tudor. I am even thinking of making it just as a slammer, so its one and only focal point is its outlandish design. This I just did last night. A 5 window, with original firewall from the AMT Vicky and quite a channel job. This is going to be as traditional as they get. Tri carbs, black with white firewall, chrome steelies with whitewalls and red interior. The body sell was cut out in the front and the panels thinned. Then a plastic strip was glued to make the little edge and then the firewall was glued. I think it looks convincing enough. This was not that easy, but I managed to meke the curvature of the inner fenders the same as the frame rails. The reason why it was not easy it because my smart a$$ first glued the inner fenders to the body and THEN decided to channel the body. My chopped '32 3 window. Have not decided yet what exactly will come out of it. Most likely a big engine and huge rear tires without fenders. and the only resin on my bench - a B400 that I bought at the show in Kansas. Honestly I expected more from that resin body. It needs a lot of cleaning. It is longer than other '32s, so it will create a nightmare with the top hood. But I had to have it. Again I have plans for a very smooth and modern rod, but looking very unaltered bod ywise. Any comments, critics and/suggestions are more than welcome. Just like everyone else I have my own favorite colors and styles, but it would be boring if I end up with 30 street rods in the same shades and building style. So please, any ideas are appreciated. And in case you are wondering, yes, I did mean I am planning on building about 30 Deuces.

Thank you hawk. it is appreciated.

I just got back into the hobby and it is funny that one of the first things I said to myself was "I have to built me a Cobra". I have this crazy idea of a Deuce Cobra. About your models and the attention they got in contests it does not surprise me. I never really understood it, but apparently some things just rate well at contests and others don't. I built few high tech Ferrari rods way back and peopple didn't even look at them altho they were mostly scratch built. Meanwhile a detailed box stock '32 got lots of wows and ooohhhhs.

Great job! Yellow is not really an easy color to paint. That TPI looks really nice. I have been out of it for a wile, so if you don't mind me asking, which kit is this? Is it too much to ask for the box art?

Very nicely built. My 5 year old has been bugging me to build a model with him, or actually to help him build a model. So I let him choose whatever he wanted and this is what he picked. It was a great choice, but the wrong one for a first kit. Such a wonderful model, but not for starters.

Wow. Thank you guys. I am glad you like it. I did not expect so many wonderful comments. I took it to the Heartland Nationals a couple weeks back and it took second place in Street Rod. I think no one there read the description of what was done to it, otherwise it may have won the class. I got a little irked about some of the things at that show, so when I found out that next year's theme is going to be '32 Fords I got into a building frenzy. Now I have like six Deuces I am working on in the same time. The idea is to show up next year with a Deuce in every possible class.

Hello guys. I am new on here and this is my very first post. This is a model I finished a month or so ago and it started as this Long story short, I have not build a plastic model for over 8 years. I walked in a hobby shop with my kid and saw the GEARZ/Revell online contest. Out of curiosity I checked it online and decided to build something for it, because I had at least 3 '32 Tudors collecting dust in the garage. This is how I just got back into it. According to the rules it had to be something with pretty much just the parts from the box, but modified. So I decided to modify every single part of the kit. Here is the list: The frame was cut behind the rear cross member, z-ed on the front and C-notched at the rear. The side grooves were filled for smooth rails. then 1mm was added to its bottom and new groove was made, which did not kick up at the firewall, but continues all the way to the front, parallel to the body/hood line. The body was made from two sedan bodies (I erased all the pictures from the process by mistake) which were cut at the belt line. So imagine one half being like a Phaeton, with the windshield frame in place. Then from a second body only the rear part of the roof with the "butt" of the model was used. This made the back of the cab of the pick-up being identical to the back of the bed. It took a lot of pie cutting on the roof and hellish filler job, but I like it. Because the frame was Z-ed and the body just slightly channeled it was a nightmare making all the hoods to fit. The side hoods received the side hood moldings from a '50 F150 and then were cut in the middle and filled with photoetched grille material. The fuel tank was made from aluminum strut supports with a tear drop profile, that R/C airplane guys use and the bed is bass wood. The wheels are from the '50 F150, but the rears are in aluminum sleeves. I don't know what else to put here, but if anyone has any questions, I will be happy to give more info.
