  1. Thanks guys. It is pure enjoyment for me. Ken
  2. Dave; that car is the best I have ever seen. You are inspiring! The work you do and the detail is truely amazing. You must have the passion for race cars like me. Thanks for sharing. Ken
  3. Thank you Sir. I have loved sprints and midgets all my life and am lucky enough to have a new hobby building them.
  4. Alll right this guy is ready to bust off and go racing ( except for seat covers and numbers) I've got some cool numbers coming but if any of you do or know someone that could make some decals/lettering for this please let me know. I either going to build that KK midget from the Madd Fabricator or an cool looking offset sprint car next. Maybe both. Thanks for all you comments along the way, it really encourages me to give it my best. Ken
  5. Don this thing is cool looking. I like the color choice, looks racey !!!
  6. .I put 3 layers of .60 styrene over the PVC pipe, on both sides, with each layer being a smaller dia.. Then putty between the edges, file and sand until smooth , cut in side grooves and paint with rubber black. These are some dirt tires I am experimenting with. The rims are just PVC pipe with the correct O.D. and I fit a center peice to it using styrene and cover it with brass or aluminum sheet.
  7. Nice job, Man. You do incredable work!
  8. Here are some shots with the new color.
  9. I finally got her up on some wheels I made from PVC pipe (both tires and rims) These are asphalt tire. Still working on making dirt tires. More body work; seperate hood, nose, tail and side panels that bolt on.
  10. I have turned some laps at Tully Rd, when it was there and at West Capital back in the day. Johnny Brazil drove the Triguerro Bros. red super modified. AJ Foyt drove a red Offy midget in the late 60s at USAC races. Fun stuff!
  11. That is cool. I will love seeing this come together as my interest is definitely in these types of cars.
  12. Thanks Dave, that means a lot to me considering what you build ( truely top shelf stuff) We like things that go really fast!!
  13. Just some paint and a mock up to see what she'll look like when it's done. I like it so I'll finish it, hopefully this month or so,
  14. Building the oil tank out of laminated styrene, filled and sanded smooth. Add the fill cap and line fittings; put on some cooling fines and mount the thing up. Thanks for the info, Don. Outstanding sprint car.
  15. That is so cool; thanks for posting it. Senna was the man.
  16. I'm with him. Scratch building models will no longer be an art or a talent that's wanted or needed.. I think that it's an awsome thing that can be done but I'll be the dinosaur not using this technology because there's a certain satisfaction that come from scratch building parts. Just my humble opinion. Ken
  17. Today I'm working on the rear bumper, roll bar, front shock hoop and did a mock up of the windshield.
  18. Ralph, I don't know how you could do much better, that's great work there. The more I look at that super, you built, the more I like it. You must have had some hands on experience with the real things to be able to build a correctly detailed model like that. Those supers I did was all from memory but the sprinter and midget are from actual plans. If you're ever interested in building one, I will gladly send you plans. Ken
  19. Ralph; one more question. That super is very unique. Did you scratch build the wide 5 wheels? They're perfect along with the CAE hubs. Looks like it's ready for hot laps at West Capital Speedway. Ken
  20. Ralph, I'm into the supermodifieds too. Where did you get that sprint body? These are my first attempts at scratch building race cars. Ken
  21. I'm starting to fit the body, made of fiberglass. I made the grill with styrene and aluminum tube which will be painted with Alclad chrome. Ken
  22. Thanks Sam, I've been working on it about a month so far. Here's a cuople of side shots and a pic of a sprinter I just finished Ken
  23. Hi, I'm new here and have been building models for about 9 months. I'm currently building an Edmunds Off midget from scratch, in 1/8 scale. If there's any interest I would like to post some pictures of the build. I bought plans from Don Edmunds ,for this, and have done a ton of research on the Offy motor., I 'm a computer idiot and can't seem to post pictures any way but this.http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff516/Ken_Meaders/101e0852.jpg http://i1239.photobu...rs/101_0845.jpg http://i1239.photobu...rs/101e0850.jpg
