this turned out beautiful! nice to see a street rod version
I've got to finish my 41 willys from drag to stock.
-
love it! turned out great

some more progress on the chassis. decided to try and make a rack and pinion. i was pretty happy with the result
also made some more tubes for the firewall. finished the lower control arm mouts and made some motor mounts and a new motor plate. finally able to remove the jig for the engine.
started making a front spoiler for the body
and finally can set on all four wheels without the jig
thanks for looking!
comments welcome

Hi Jason!
Your jig is very clever. It seems to be made from styrene stock? I envy your surgical application of glue in such closed quarters. I would be too old to attemps that... Ah, the joys of youth!
Mine are made of wood, more forgiving for shakes. Getting older by the day, you know.
Those struts are world class, they look 1/1. Keep on, impressive!

yeah just some styrene stock to make it. I did have a casually that got glue everywhere ?
you'd really never guess seeing your builds thats for sure

the wheels and tires are from futurattraction.
they are called Billet Specialties Comp7

thank you for all the wonderful comments everyone!
I made a jig to make control arms so they match. will also use it on future builds.
after a control arm was made I made a few mounting points and set it up to see the result.
still need to make more mounting points and the other control arm. most likely a plate for the middle of the arm too.

Hi Jason, I’m relatively new here on the forum, and hadn’t seen this build yet. I still have a lot of catching up to do! This is absolutely fabulous. I love Tim’s comment that this is like a modellers swimsuit edition, that gave me a laugh. There are a handful of you guys that are just in a league of your own, and it is truly a pleasure to watch the builds progress. Also fun to see the high amount of respect you have for each other.
I will definitely be following along now, this is a stunning build, thanks for sharing!Cheers, Steve
hello Steve! this form is inspiring to say the least. there are so many helpful people here it really makes you strive to be better. having met some of the members at shows and swap meets as well as having the support and help from everyone here are really friends to me.

Just to be clear... This Impala is Jason Schofield's build. It IS a beauty.
I'm just a pedestrian walking by on this tread and complimenting Jason about it. I'd like to claim it as one of my builds, but alas, not this time!

Very nice! I assume that all of the 1:1 cars started out painted white, hence the instructions to paint the floor pan and interior white. I really like the subtle weathering you did underneath. It looks like this car has spent some time on the track. An explanation and/or tutorial on your technique would be appreciated. Some dry brushing of craft paint maybe?
steve,
from what I know they are painted a basic color like white or grey then the livelry is a vinyl wrap. the weathering on the inside and chassis was done with weathering power. I used grey and black powder lightly brushing it across the surface then blew off the excess. added a little at a time until I was happy.
thank you for your comment and I hope this helps!

tamiya mustang GT-4 finished. this kit was really nice and fun to build some nice detailing and some plumbing really makes it. I have forgotten to sand the tires though so I'll have to fix that. but I've already purchased another kit to build and might have to get more. it seemed to just fall together awesome kit
dindt use the kit carbon fiber as I wanted to do the front splitter and canards so I used scale motorsports carbon fiber so everything matched
thanks for lookin!

Great ? work Jason, your detailing of the Rat and chassis is top notch, plus the overall paint finish on the body... it all adds up to a terrific build. Is the carb from Fireball, and which type is it?
Cheers Misha
