  1. Actually, according to Mr. Brannan, the rear axle was not reposition (or moved forward 3") on his car (Goldfinger), the first of two built by DST. The rear axle was in it's stock position. The only modification was to the rear wheel well to accept larger slicks. So if anyone is building this particular Mustang, the rear axle should be left in it's stock position. That is from the original owner who was involved with the creation of this car.
  2. I here you Tom, just something about those cars from an era that we will never see again
  3. I will do my best to move this one along.
  4. These are MCW resin kits. The donor kit is the 1960 Starliner. I will try to make you proud Ray. The real cars were very cool, hopefully these will too
  5. I am doing the torsion leaf front suspension, cutting out the shock towers. No rear axle relocation.
  6. Yes it is. The second one was light blue driven by Phil Bonner
  7. Thanks, This was a really cool car as only two were built by DST, the red car of Brannan's and a white car retained by Ford for testing. The white car was used a template for the others that were built by Holman-Moody. Based on photos of the real car, I plan to remove the shock towers completely to replicate the real car. This will open up additional room. BTW I have two RG SOHC 427 engines. I am glad I bought both of them when the were readily available.
  8. Brannan's car was the very first SOHC 427 mustang for 1965 and was originally red when delivered to Brannan from DST. Then blue for a very short period of time before becoming Goldfinger. Thanks for the info on the engine compartment.
  9. These will become Dick Brannan's record setting 1963 1/2 Lightweight 427 Galaxie and 1964 427 Thunderbolt. The Galaxie will use MCW lightweight interior.
  10. The kit is Revell 1965 Mustang 2+2 Fastback, the hood is from Competition Resins and the engine is from Ross Gibson. Not shown is custom decals done by Decals by Lucas
  11. This will become Dick Brannan's 1964 A/FX 427 Falcon
  12. These will become Dick Brannan's 1962 all steel 406 6v Super Stock and 406 dual 4 bbl Lightweight Galaxie's
  13. After reworking the shock towers the mightly 427 SOHC engine now fits into the engine bay of the Dick Brannan's 1965 SOHC Mustang....Goldfinger
  14. Would have been great to go but will not have my builds done in time. I am planning on the IPMS National Convention July 2017 for my 6 Dick Brannan Super Stock and A/FX cars. I was planning on having the 6 Super Duty Tempest ready, but have run into a delay with those.
  15. Dan....I have one. The body and hood is all get and it is done very well. You will need the 1962 Catalina 421 SD Coupe from AMT to complete the model. Mine has Don Gay - Gay Pontiac decals. Dave Dodge is great to work with, I have bought several models from him not including the 16 1963 Pontiac Tempest coupes and wagons.
  16. Hey Alan....the resin kits are from MCW (Model Car World).
  17. Cool build and plate!
  18. I have mentioned in a past topic that I am building the six original factory produced 1963 LeMans 421 SD Coupes. Each will have it's original race day decals from 1963/64. The cars include, the Stan Antlocer Stan Long Pontiac car, the Bill Jarrett Superior Pontiac car, the George Delorean Wynn Engineering car, the Mickey Thompson #749 car, the Arnie Beswick "The Farmer" car, and the Ray Nichels #50 Daytona Speedweek car driven by Paul Goldsmith. Here are the first three, Stan Long, Wynn and Superior Pontiac cars in primer. The goal is to have all six completed by July 2017 for the IPMS Nationals
  19. Excellent build!!! Just something about those Super Stock cars that are timeless.
  20. My plan is to build three coupes together, Stan Long Pontiac, Wynn Engineering and Superior Pontiac first, along the Mickey Thompson #755 prototype Bodies are being prepped now and as soon as the weather warms, they will be primed and painted the factory color Cameo Ivory and Yorktown Blue for the prototype.
  21. The car you probably seen was the Union Park Pontiac car. Original lettering on the car was "INSTANT". It is the only survivor of the original 6 wagons
  22. Update.........the decals for all six of the 1963 LeMans 421 SD coupes now exist for the first time. This would have not been possible without the work of Rick Lucas from Decals by Lucas. Earlier this year I contacted Mr. Lucas with the crazy idea that I wanted to create decals for the original six 1963 Pontiac Lemans 421SD coupes. He agreed to help me out (for a fee of course). Mr. Lucas is very talented and created some fantastic custom made decals that I never thought would be possible. His work is second to none. Additionally, I have 4 of the 6 1963 Pontiac Tempest 421SD wagon decals with final two being worked on now. Once completed, all 6 of the wagon decals will exist for the first time. To see all 12 of the original 421 SD cars together along with the two prototype coupe should be really cool. I will post photos as I get the cars painted and decaled.
  23. I got those decals from MCW when I bought the kit
  24. Nice work! I like it! I am a big Pontiac 421 SD fan, Catalina's and Tempest/Lemans. I also have a 1963 Swiss Cheese Catalina, mine is from MCW. Mine will replicate Arlen Vanke's Anderson Pontiac Tin Indian car. When painting you Swiss Cheese car, to be authentic, the original exterior color was a Cadillac color called Frost Silver. I may do a couple of additional Swiss Chees cars, Royal and Van Winkle. I am the one assembling a series of 421 SD LeMans coupes and Tempest Wagons. I will be doing all 12 cars. Additional 1963 Tempest 421 SD coupes I am doing is both prototypes (the Yorktown Blue M/T car and the Silvermist Ray Nichels car) and Arlen Vanke's Anderson Pontiac car. The Vanke car was not a factory built car but did have factory backing. Please keep us updated!
