Thanks, guys. I'm just starting to build the truck. I'll post as soon as I get some paint on it.

Has anyone tried this? I'm trying to match a color and the 2 colors that will get me close, one is Testors and the other is Model Master. I know that they are both enamel and made by Testors, but Testors thinner says it is a "universal" which leads me to think they might not mix well together.
I welcome any input.

Thanks Mark! That definitely helps!
Anytime. Glad I could help.

I think this is what you are asking for:

An appropriate name for a great looking build. Look forward to updates.

Wow, looks like they have the Samsonite goriila working shipping! Nice salvage job.
I just recently bought a LoneStar and I am pleased with it. After seeing the mock-up, the Prostar just went to the top of my to-get list(along with the Great Dane trailer).

OK, thanks for the quick replies.
Gordon, great job on the tanker.
Ben, do you have a link to where I can find the suspension parts? Thanks.

I recently got started building again after a 15 year hiatus. I saw the Lonestar on a racing tv show and I loved it and said that is what I want to build. So I found one on the 'bay for $53 including shipping shortly before Christmas. Now I have to decide what trailer I would like for it. I found a pic from a company out of New Jersey that I really like their paint scheme. I have included some pics of it.

My question is what kind of tanker trailer is it hauling(Fruehauf, Beall, etc.) and is there a model of it or fairly close to it? I know the sideskirts on the LoneStar kit are made differently from the tractor in the pics. How hard would it be to scratchbuild the fuel tank and boxstep? I've not done a lot of scratchbuilding for models, but I have scratchbuilt a few items for my model railroad.
Any advice and help will be greatly appreciated.
Also, is there anyone who lives in NJ and could possibly get a few more shots of it, like the front, left side and backend of the trailer for a little more detail? Thanks again.

first put the instuctions in the trash get some reff pics and then start..the only issue i had was hood fit..i shaved the cab mounts and file the hood hindge.. final product not bad.
Fantastic job on the Lonestar and the trailer! What brand of paint and color did you use for the green? I have a '63 Chevy Stepside in the works and that is the color I have in mind for it. Thanks

Yep, I still have mine too. It's packed up with the rest of my HO scale trains.
