  1. Real nice work!
  2. Nice work everyone...A few pics of my builds that I like.
  3. Thanks to all you guys again! Niko, The markings for the car number are from Woodland Scenics (items for scale railroads) and they are dry transfer graphics. Easy enough to apply if they can be kept straight. I used a piece of drafting tape for my straightline to go by.
  4. Thanks all! I'm very happy with the results Tyrone...Thanks again!
  5. Thanks for all the great comments fellas....It is truly appreciated!
  6. Thanks much guys! I'll call this build complete. I built this model to display as you see it in the pics (static). The doors don't open and close etc. I took pics of it on a couple of different backgrounds and I hope you enjoy. I am very satisfied with the outcome of the model and now I have the replica of my car that I always wanted. I will be doing some sort of display base (maybe two) to have when I display the model along with some info and pics of the actual car. Again, thanks for following along!
  7. Not much done this week but I did get the chute in place (pics are somewhat dark..better ones later). I never pulled the chute on my car (not much need to on a 9 second car) but I put one in the model because its been a signature of mine with the open chutes for many years. So, needless to say the replica of my actual car has an open chute in the trunk. I don't know how many pieces of PE bolt head and screw head details I've used but its a lot (over 60 pieces throughout) and I got the dzus fasteners on the hood and trunk. Doors are next. Thanks!
  8. Thanks fellas! Rick, I use Model Master #2936 High Gloss Enamel for my choice of clear. I've always had good luck with it and so I stick with it pretty much exclusively.
  9. Tons of work in this Joe...Good stuff!
  10. Coming along real nice Tyrone....Anxious to see your color choice also.
  11. Thanks for the nice comments guys...I appreciate it! I polished out the clear to a very nice luster and installed the windows. The body is now in place for good. I got the engine bay tin foiled and in place also. I had to modify the racing jacket somewhat (looks better now) and I'll work on the doors and some small details next. More soon (I hope) and thanks again!
  12. Coming along nicely Val....Keep at it!
  13. Brad your shop is great. Full of details everywhere. Good job!
  14. Nice job...You always turn out some great looking builds.
  15. Very clean looking build....Paint and decals look great.
  16. Thanks guys! Tyrone, I talked with Wayne in Sept. and at that time we both planned to attend the show in Atlanta. But, with Wayne being on the road and me not working right now...It just didn't work out for us this year. This is 2 years in a row that we've missed the show. I haven't been to a single show in 2013 but I hope to do several next year. I hope you had a great time and I saw some pics of the show with your builds on the table and they looked nice. Do you know who any of the winners were?
  17. I got the body and trim foiled and the clear coat sprayed on today. The temp was around 78 with humidity less than 50% so it worked out great for spraying on the clear. I cut some side windows and got the car number and my name done as well. More soon and thanks for looking in!
  18. Thanks fellas! Gordon, the car was air shifted and the bottle you see mounted on the roll bar is a co2 bottle. It is controlled by an electric solenoid (activation switch) that allows the car to shift at consistent rpms (the same rpm) on each and every run. Shift points could be changed from lets say...6700 rpm to 7200 rpm simply by changing a chip in the computer box. The bottom line is...is that it just makes for a more consistant race car. It sort of takes the driver out of the equation but thats ok if it makes the car more consistent. Thanks!
  19. Not a lot to report but I did install the helmet in the passenger floor (where I put it after a run) and I made a replica of my jacket and draped it over the passenger side roll bar (which I did sometimes). I need time to be able to clear the body and parts and to begin work on the windows.
  20. You turn out some nice F/C builds Brett...Good Job!
  21. Thats a real clean build...Nice work!
  22. Not always....Lots of test fitting..LOL Thanks Steven
