  1. Nice! I really like the look...the color combo and wheels work well together.
  2. Exactly! Obviously, if you already have the photo or know for sure whether or not it's real, don't tell everyone!!! That spoils it for everyone else. And just to make it official, yeah, it's real. Next ROM coming Monday!
  3. The kit represents the very first generation E-type. In fact, it represents one of the first 500 cars off the production line, because only the first 500 had the external bonnet latches that you see molded into the sides of the hood (bonnet). After those first 500, Jaguar went to internally-released (from the cockpit) latches.
  4. I think it's understood that each builder will supply his own set...
  5. Gregg "Honcho" Hutchings....that sounds pretty good! BTW...the pony you asked for went out FedEx this morning...
  6. Hmmm....let's see... ...if I could use two, then a full scale, "anatomically correct" copy of Michelangelo's "David"... ...a Kermit the Frog doll... ...a half-scale model of a pool table... the list goes on...
  7. What do you think...real or model? The answer: REAL!
  8. You guys are getting too good! It's a model, 1/18 diecast. Next ROM coming MONDAY!
  9. That's not a bad idea...
  10. wow...they're dropping like flies! I heard about Wm. F. Buckley, but not Buddy Miles.
  11. I'll bet "lordairgtr" would know who he is...
  12. CadZZila was designed FOR ZZ Top, not BY them.
  13. Not "anti NASCAR'...just not interested in it. There's a difference between not having any interest in something and being actively "against" it. I feel the same way about F1...no interest whatsoever, but I'm certainly not "against" it. Let 'em race...they don't need me!
  14. If the kit allows for them to turn, fine...and if not, fine too. After all, the "engine" doesn't really run, the transmission is hollow and in most cases the suspension doesn't work and the doors don't open...so why should the wheels have to turn?
  15. Right. But that still doesn't make it good.
  16. Pretty sad how NASCAR has morphed from a down-home, populist-appeal sport practiced and enjoyed by regular old folks on the weekend to this huge corporate cash-generating monster...the money being so all-powerful and all-controlling that we can't even get a lousy scale model of a current NASCAR racer due to the ridiculous greed being shown by everyone involved in today's NASCAR. I've never been a fan, but I think the "good old days" of NASCAR were a whole lot better than what passes for "stock car racing" today...
  17. Here we go... Real or model? The answer: MODEL!
  18. ok, you guys are getting too good at this...I'll have to find some tougher ones... You're right, it's REAL! Next ROM coming Monday!
  19. Are you going to add a resin figure of Danica???
  20. ok, everybody, sing along... All that you touch, and all that you see... All that you taste, and all that you feel. All that you love, all that you hate, All you distrust, all you save. All that you give and all that you deal... All that you buy, beg, borrow or steal, And all you create, and all you destroy... All that you do, and all that you say. And all that you eat, and everyone you meet... And all that you slight, and everyone you fight. All that is now...and all that is gone, And all that's to come... and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon.
  21. Raisin did a Chevy?????!!!!!!!!!! I think I just felt the earth jump off it's axis...
  22. Sometimes "No assembly required" is just what the doctor ordered!
  23. Everyone's a comedian!!!
  24. I just got this yesterday. It's the Danbury Mint 1/12 scale 1930 Cadillac V16, brand new tool. A partial list of features: The obvious ones: hood, doors and rumble seat open, wheels steer. Also: Spring-loaded hood vents open and close (can be latched closed) Radiator cap is removeable Driveshaft and fanbelt/fan spin with rear wheels Windshield flips open at bottom for "ventilation" Windshield folds down Wind wings, rear-view mirrors adjustable Seat adjusts front to back Cowl vent opens via dash control Wipers move Cloth convertible top that really opens and closes, with separate cloth boot. Hubcaps are removeable, wheels are removeable to show brake detail Battery box door opens Tool box door opens (with removeable tools) Golf bag with clubs! Driving lights pivot with front wheels, and operate via dashboard switch Headlights and taillights work Headlights can be switched to "hi beams" Stoplights are activated by pressing the brake pedal Courtesy lights on running boards light up when the door is opened, go off when door is closed Golf bag compartment light goes on when door is opened, off when door is closed. Footrest in rumble seat operates Luggage rack operates, can be opened flat or folded against back of car Instrument panel lights work Accelerator, brake and clutch pedal have "travel" Fully wired and plumbed V16 Here are a few pics. As you can see, a diecast really CAN be a quality model. No, it's not like building it yourself, but impressive nonetheless. And it's HEAVY!
  25. You ain't seen nuthin' yet. Wait'll you see what's coming in the near future...
