  1. And you thought the Ramones were the influential ones...
  2. The Ramones did a cover version, the original is from the 60s. This is the "real" version... the one I was thinking of but couldn't remember the band...
  3. Warm California Sun? Not sure if that's the title, can't think of the name of the band. "We're out there having fun in the warm California sun"... I can hear the song in my mind but don't remember the band. Seems to me they were a one-hit wonder?
  4. I've never seen one of these in two-tone. But seeing as they were very high-end cars, I suppose an owner could have his painted any way he wanted. I like the looks of this car in black, but like Skip said, I already have a black one, so something different. Red is too "expected".... don't like yellow on this car, white seems too plain, silver too bland. Maybe maroon with a white interior and wide whitewalls.
  5. "Your woman's cussing, you can hear her scream... You feel like murder in the first degree"...
  6. One of the all-time coolest cars ever. If you were a big shot and/or heavy hitter in 1930s Germany, this is the car you wanted to be seen in. This is the kit... It's 1/16 scale, so it'll fit right in to my "classics" collection. The "K" in 540K stands for "kompressor," which is the German word for compressor... or in automotive terms, supercharger. This car had crazy performance, sort of like the Bugatti Veyron or McLaren or (insert your favorite super car here) of its day. The kit can be built one of two ways... with dual spares mounted in a well behind the rumble seat, or with the rear deck clean and fender-mounted twin spares. Still not sure which way I want to go, also not sure what color I want to go with, so... suggestions are welcome.
  7. It's the Entex version (1/16 scale). I say "Entex version" because like a lot of kits of cars from this era, they were reissued under various brands and with various different box art... but whether an Entex kit, a Minicraft kit, a Bandai kit, etc... they are all the same kit. Not sure why cars of this era in particular got the runaround that way, but it's very common for some reason.
  8. I love that Ford PU! Tiny yet completely detailed. All of them are great, but that little PU is just too cool!
  9. There's plenty of stuff I've never heard. Some of the stuff that's been posted here is by bands I never listen to, so I'm pretty easy to stump with "obscure" stuff.
  10. The Byrds, Wasn't Born to Follow.
  11. Here's one just for you. No fair looking it up. ..."where the the trees have leaves of prisms and break the light in colors that no one knows the names of"...
  12. I could make them so obscure that nobody would get it. But what fun is that?
  13. Correct. Police, King of Pain.
  14. "There's a red fox torn by a huntsman's pack... There's a black-winged gull with a broken back"...
  15. '20s and '30s... I've already started with the '28 Lincoln, '28 Mercedes, and '33 Duesenberg.
  16. Very nice.
  17. That's pretty funny. I like Blue Ray...
  18. That's not so much a corny joke as cruel reality!
  19. Beautiful! And the engine detail is very convincing.
  20. Paul... it's not next... but is on my list. Looking for one at a good price and I'll grab it. BTW... just bought a 1/16 Mercedes 540K on ebay... should be here in a day or two.
  21. Do it, Eric! We need more members building and posting classics...
  22. Oh, ok, I get you. Sorry... I totally misunderstood what you meant.
  23. Sold? I've never sold a kit. Ever,
