  1. Think of it this way. Your kids will only be young once. Before you know it, they'll be grown and on their own. Model cars will still be there when they're gone. Take it from a guy who has been there and done that.
  2. I'll trade you your 107 for my 20!
  3. Said in my best Curly voice... "Oh, a wise guy!"
  4. Related trivia: How many of you know that Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampett) was the original Tin Man in "The Wizard of Oz?" In fact, filming had already begun, and footage still exists of scenes with Ebsen as the Tin Man. But he had a severe allergic reaction to the aluminum powder used in his Tin Man makeup and had to be hospitalized, so the part went to Jack Haley instead. And the rest, as they say, is history.
  5. "Cruisin' down the center of a two-way street, Wond'rin' who is really in the driver's seat. Mindin' my business–along comes big brother. Says, "Son, you better get on one side or the other."
  6. Olivia Newton-John did a version of Summertime Blues????!!! Wow... never would have guessed that!
  7. You got it, Carl! I like that song too. Got it again!
  8. Yep, heard it earlier today. RIP, Elly May. So is Max Baer (Jethro) still among the living? If so, he would be the last man standing, as Jed, Granny, Mr. Drysdale, and Miss Jane have all checked out already.
  9. I haven't read 50 books in my entire life!
  10. Probably going to hold off until spring. But then for sure...
  11. "Now I have loved you like a baby, like some lonesome child. And I have loved you in a tame way, And I have loved you wild"...
  12. "Well this morning I ain't fightin', tell her I give up. Tell her she wins if she'll just shut up. But it's the last time that she's gonna be riding with me"...
  13. Beyond that you don't need to know, because it was Carl Perkins!
  14. Looking for the original...
  15. "Well, it's one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, now go, cat, go!"
  16. ... on Blueberry Hill... Fats Domino.
  17. Correct on the title...
  18. Still waiting for an answer...
  19. Here in Chicago we have a building called the Sears Tower. Sort of a landmark... used to be the tallest building in the world at one point. Then Sears moved corporate to Hoffman Estates (a Chicago suburb right next to me)... and the building was officially renamed the "Willis Tower" for the new owner. But nobody in the Chicago area calls it that. It will always be the "Sears Tower" to us locals.
  20. Then what is it associated with? Chrysler cheese? Chrysler shoes? Chrysler mascara?
  21. So do it! And post the results. We need more classics here. There's a lot more to the automotive scene than muscle cars, dragsters, and street rods.
  22. I understand that Chrysler ceased to be "Chrysler" when Daimler took it over. But the loss of the name "Chrysler" as far as the corporation goes.... maybe I'm goofy, but that's just sad. So is the Chrysler building in NYC now the "FCA Building?"
