  1. Wow. Un-freaking-believable.
  2. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/06/25/stolen-17-chevrolet-corvette-recovered-after-33-years/?intcmp=obnetwork
  3. Yep, that's what I've been talking about! But unfortunately, those days are gone.
  4. I hadn't heard that one. That's another recall? Made public today? Sheesh...
  5. You're making really nice progress on this! Good thing Skip is along for the ride... he really knows his stuff on this car.
  6. I'm a big Clint Eastwood fan... more a fan of Eastwood the director than the actor, so I'll have to check this one out. He's probably my favorite living movie director.
  7. That's a good looking car. Very nice shade of blue.
  8. Man, that's really beautiful! Superb job all around.
  9. Fantastic! I like everything about it... color, bed, wheels... everything!
  10. The '70s called... they want their color scheme back...
  11. I don't think he's posted it here. At least nowhere I've seen it. I hope he does, but we'll see.
  12. I hope Bob decides to post his model here, too.
  13. Charlie, you and Rob are the two extremes here. Rob is the total techno-geek, and if a voice-activated muffler bearing or power floor mats were offered, you know his car would have it! He's never met a gizmo or gadget he doesn't like! And you would be perfectly happy driving a Model T! Different strokes...
  14. New Hampshire? Who knew?!
  15. Exactly! That's all I ever said. Bob's model is beautiful. There's no controversy there, it's spectacular. But like I said in the beginning, this is not about Bob or his model. The appropriate place to comment on a model featured in SA would be on the SA forum. Even Bob himself said he was surprised to see posts on this forum regarding his model that is featured in SA. It would have been a different story if Bob had posted photos of his model here, but he didn't. And the reason that I didn't send a PM, but made a public comment, is because I wanted everyone to get the message, not just the OP. It's just common courtesy to not plug the competition here. That's not a commentary or a judgement on the competition... it's just not cool to plug MCM's competition here, on the MCM forum that is paid for by Gregg and provided to you guys for free.
  16. Obviously you just don't get it. Ok, here's an example. Suppose you want into restaurant "A" and went table to table telling everyone how great a meal you had across the street, at restaurant "B." There's nothing wrong with restaurant "B." It might be a terrific restaurant. But you don't go to restaurant "A" and talk up the competition. The owners of restaurant "A" might not be too thrilled with you going into their place and telling everyone how good the food is at restaurant "B." Now do you get it?
  17. There is no "silly rule." There's no rule at all about mentioning SA here. And the Mustang model is terrific. And Bob Downie is a very talented modeler. None of that is the point. The point is, the appropriate place to congratulate Bob, or comment about his model that appears in the latest issue of SA, would be on the SA forum. Is that really so hard to understand?
  18. The baseball analogy might not be a good apples-to-apples analogy, but it wasn't me that brought up the example of baseball bats. You get my point regarding NASCAR. I know you do.
  19. Seems to me that asking about who's read an article in the latest issue of SA is a bit out of place on the Model Cars magazine forum. I'm not going to tell you you can't post that, because we don't operate that way here. But I will say it seems to be a little disrespectful to Gregg. Try posting a rave about an article you saw in the latest MCM over on their site and see how long it stays up.
  20. You weren't even two years old at that time.
  21. But they all have to drive the same car!
  22. Is this really the appropriate place to post that?
  23. Not so. Bats vary greatly–lengths, weights, brands. There is no MLB rule that says all hitters must use the same identical bat.
