  1. And don't they also have the biggest bugs of all the states?
  2. That's like asking what car to buy. Way too many choices, way too many personal preferences to give you any reasonable advice, because everyone's needs and desires and expectations are different. Generically speaking, if comfort is goal #1, get a bike with handlebars that let you sit as upright as possible. Avoid the "racing" types of handlebars where you have to bend down low... all your upper body weight is on your arms and it's very tiring after a while. Also look for a gel-type seat (or add a seat cushion/cover). If you're going to ride on smooth, paved surfaces (not on trails or off-road), I think a bike with suspension is a waste of money. A basic single-speed "cruiser" style bike sounds like just what you want, IMO. Simple and inexpensive.
  3. I just shake the little tube of hardener before I open it. Works for me.
  4. That applies to all consumer goods (except maybe the licensing part). So why have model kit prices risen so fast? Way faster than inflation... my theory is that the kitmakers are jacking up prices to make up for falling sales volume.
  5. The bad news for GM just keeps on coming. The bad ignition switch (the subject of several, but not all GM recalls this year) was manufactured by Delphi. They stopped making the switch in 2011, but now that GM needs literally millions of them, Delphi must once again tool up to manufacture the switch, which has taken them a lot of time. Not enough new switches are being produced to cover the scope of the recalls–the switches are just trickling in to dealers... people whose cars were recalled months ago are still driving around with defective cars because they are on "waiting lists." So far less than 8% of the recalled cars have been repaired. GM is wiling to give out loaner cars to those affected, but again, the cost of the loaner cars alone (wear and tear) is a huge hit.
  6. And how often does one need to be driving more than 100 mph?
  7. On the camera... do you have the macro (close-up) setting on or off? If you're shooting up close, macro should be on. If you're shooting from more than about two feet away, macro should be off. If you're shooting too close with macro off, you get blurry pix... and if you're shooting from further away with macro on, you also get blurry pix. I don't think the camera is the problem... check your macro setting. Also try using the camera's flash. Digital film is free, you can't run out. Experiment a bit and you'll be getting way better photos in no time.

    The V28

I kinda like the pseudo-military look you have going. Love how the top panels look like an airplane canopy. Do they come off? Looks like they might...
  9. Maybe she's a switch hitter...
  10. Goose island is always nice...
  11. Yeah, but it doesn't run because of the "wire hornest." Finding a replacement wire hornest for a '55 Cheverlot isn't going to be easy...
  12. What kind of salary does a school psychologist get there in SoCal???!!!! No wonder you guys are taxed up the wazoo...
  13. Not sure about the windshield frame, wipers, interior, and sun visors all painted gloss red. It might have looked a bit more realistic if the interior was a slightly different shade, or less shiny, instead of the same exact color as the sheetmetal.
  14. Maybe nobody complained because nobody was paying attention like you were. Good that you got a refund, the decals are obviously substandard.
  15. Oh, sorry. I thought that was one that you did. Never mind, then... Edit: I just re-read your post. My mistake on the decal. If that's the quality of decal you received, I can see why you're frustrated!
  16. The hardener does tend to separate. Like Bill said... shake and/or knead the tube before you use it.

    1969 GTO

Very nice. Super slick paint, and your usual wild interior! (but that air filter shouldn't be chrome!)
  18. Look at the real thing... the "O" of Professionalism lines up under the "Y" of Courtesy (following the angle of the lettering). On your decal, the word "Professionalism" is way too short. And the angle of the text on the real thing is more pronounced. You also misspelled "Courtesy." Since you seem to be intent on getting the details right, I thought I should point that out to you.
  19. Did you replace the kit "glass" with something thinner?
  20. The new Jaguar signature grille doesn't make it for me.
  21. Ok, I knew that "survey" sounded off, so I looked it up. The flattest states (least distance between lowest and highest point)... 1. Florida (sea level-345 feet): 345 feet 2. Delaware (sea level-448): 448 feet 3. Louisiana (-8 below sea level-535): 543 feet 4. Mississippi (sea level-806): 806 feet 5. Rhode Island (sea level-812): 812 feet 6. Indiana (320 feet above sea level-1257): 937 feet 7. Illinois (279 feet above sea level-1235): 956 feet I guess those guys didn't know what they were talking about! We're number 7! We're number 7!
  22. I'm not sure how they figure Illinois is the flattest state (besides Florida). Actually, northwestern Illinois (where the glaciers missed) is fairly hilly. Not mountainous, but obviously not flat, either.
  23. I guess a speed bump would be the highest point in Illinois!
  24. Still has a lot of "E Type" in it, which is good. Get rid of the scoops/vents on the sides of the grille, fix the headlights, and you have something!
