  1. At the Cell (US Cellular Field, to be precise)... they play "Thunderstruck" on the PA system while the starting lineup is announced. Edit: White Sox Park, for those of you from somewhere else...
  2. And of course, no trip to Fullerton was complete without a stop at Phil's (don't remember the exact location, but on Fullerton closer to Pulaski than Bill's, and also on the north side of Fullerton... maybe Fullerton and Springfield or so?)... for a Chicago-style hot dog with the works, and fries. Mmmmmm...
  3. Are the figures included in the kit? They're pretty cool. And the dust on their boots is a very slick little touch. You are a master of weathering these vehicles (and their crew).
  4. My hangout as a kid! Went there almost every Saturday morning with my $2 allowance in hand... just enough to buy a kit.
  5. Wow! Super sharp and clean. That's a winner.
  6. That shot of the rear of the trailer looks like the real deal! Very nice work.
  7. Thanks, perfesser, but arithmetic is a branch of mathematics. Look it up.
  8. I'm not a "train guy," but I do know the "big boy" locomotives. They are the "T-Rex" of steam locomotives. Great to see one of those monsters brought back to life. Weren't there only a very few ever made? I'm thinking like 50 or less?
  9. Not good. AC/DC is one of my favorites.
  10. That interior is.... uh... interesting.
  11. Please post QUESTIONS in the Q&A section. not in the Tips section.
  12. Is your computer haunted? BTW... whose photo of the robin is that? Nice picture! It looks like he hasn't missed many meals!
  13. The manual says they're clearcoated. Any suggestions on the best clear to use once I remove the corrosion? Lacquer? Enamel?
  14. It could be that you're using an old web browser or one that's not compatible with the latest PB software. I use PB all the time and never have the problems you describe. If PB works for me and not for you, that would suggest that the problem isn't with PB, but on your end somehow. My suspicion is your browser is outdated or incompatible with PB.
  15. I think it was more like 6 or 7, if I remember correctly.
  16. I don't think this can just be polished away... I'm thinking I need some sort of chemical.
  17. You don't need a computer. You need a calculator, and a calculator function is already built into computers. So getting a special "scale calculator" is completely unnecessary, as any calculator, either a hand-held one or one built into your computer or laptop or tablet, can "do the math." If you like the idea of using a special "scale calculator," that's fine. I'm just saying it's not needed, as any calculator can be used to figure out scale conversions, inches to mm or cm, etc. The reason I brought that up is because the OP mentions that Apple users are "left out" because his scale calculator doesn't have an Apple version... but the fact is a special scale calculator is unnecessary. If your device has a built-in calculator function, you already have all you need to do any scale conversions.
  18. That's really nice! Tell me about "Magic Water." I've never heard of it. Is it some sort of resin or what?
  19. It's not floor wax. It's clear acrylic, nothing more, nothing less. You can buy clear acrylic in spray can form or bottle form with a hobby brand name on it–or get a bottle of Future at a cost per ounce just a tiny fraction of what the "hobby" brand clear will cost you. Jared: Future looks milky until fully dry, then it is crystal clear. You're laying it on too thick and not letting it fully dry. Get yourself a cheap food dehydrator. It will dry the Future (and all painted parts) in no time. I got one at Walmart for $30. Best model-building "tool" I ever bought.
  20. Actually, if you build with a PC, laptop, smart phone or tablet nearby, you already have a "scale calculator"... pretty sure all of those devices have a basic calculator function built in.
  21. Wow, that turned out beautifully! Very clean and sharp!
  22. Yesterday's snow is counted as part of Spring 2014. And no thanks on keeping a snowball on hand for when I need it... because I have no need for snow. Ever.
