  1. Thanks to all for your comments. It means a lot to me to get so much positive feedback from fellow forum members and fellow modelers. This is what makes the work worthwhile! I don't enter contests, but the positive feedback I've gotten here is worth more to me than any contest trophy.
  2. Very cool. I love the washer fluid detail.
  3. Snow's gone? Hilarious... we still have plenty of snow on the ground! And the forecast tonight is for a major blizzard warning... up to 8 inches of snow by tomorrow. Winter isn't quite over yet. Not here, at least.
  4. Well, it's done. Added the step plates and the STUTZ logo on the radiator shell. In "Under Glass."
  5. Wanna race? 1914 Stutz Bearcat and its arch rival, a Mercer Raceabout:
  6. Yes, this would have been a "muscle car" in its day... a 1914 Stutz Bearcat. This car was flashy and fast, and people who drove one wanted to be noticed! The model is 1/16 scale and a kitbash between three kits: Aurora Stutz (most of the kit, but it's a curbside), Lindberg Stutz racer (basic engine block and rear end), and Bandai/Entex/Fuman Mercer (for some of the detail parts that the Aurora kit lacked)... plus a lot of scratchbuilding. Full detailed WIP here if you're interested.
  7. The guy is good, no matter how you look a it.
  8. In any case, it's a good looking car!
  9. Ditto. What the heck is the point of having a big old honkin' pickup as your daily commuter vehicle, dragging that big old empty cargo box around?
  10. Is there an engine in there somewhere?
  11. We're supposed to get several inches Wednesday. We'll see.
  12. My problem is too many projects, too little time. I'll pick this up again for sure... I've come too far to abandon it now. But I don't know when. A lot depends on my work schedule, too. Sometimes I have time for building, sometimes not.
  13. Oh, gotcha. I'm thinking gray and maroon, to match the body color scheme. Probably maroon on the inner area around the RR cap, the outer area gray, and a maroon lip around the edge.
  14. Weird. Why put it in the catalog if it doesn't exist? Or if it existed, why was it cancelled? Why design complete finished box art for a kit you're not going to actually make? Inquiring minds want to know...
  15. Bare plastic. I haven't painted anything yet, just worked out how to fake the wheels without actually building the spokes inside.
  16. So in the photos Greg posted... the model and the box shown were just fakes? I assume they were, since they wouldn't cancel the kit after they had already produced it. But they sure were into the process pretty deep if they had already done what looks to be a very finished box art design,
  17. Remember... do not post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1939 Dodge Luxury Liner
  18. Come on, guys... somebody should have gotten this. I once used it in an Auto ID quiz!
  19. You are definitely the eternal optimist!
  20. Arrives in December? It's March 9.
  21. Man, that is slick! My only negative is that the panel lines on the wooden parts are too dark. But other than that...beautiful! I love it!
  22. Here's one way to go about it: Mix your decal water 50/50 with Future. Future is clear acrylic, so mixed into your decal soaking water, it'll help the decal to stick. You can also paint the area to receive the decal with 100% Future, then apply the decal. It'll stick just fine. You might want to give the body an overall clear coat after all the decals have been applied... just to even things out,
