  1. Model Motorcars has Fiat aftermarket tires.
  2. Do you have your weather emergency preparedness kit ready?
  3. I guess you're right!
  4. Fuel theft was a big problem. That's precisely why they went to pre-pay... because people, given the chance, are dishonest. Don't blame the gas stations, blame the lowlifes who stole all the gas for so long. If they weren't busy stealing gas, pre-pay wouldn't have been necessary. These days almost everyone buys gas with a card anyway... credit or debit. So pre-pay isn't even an issue. You swipe your card, you pump your gas. Done. Makes perfect sense to me. Why trudge over to the building and pre-pay when you can just use your card right there at the pump?
  5. Forecast for tomorrow: High of 50, strong thunderstorms, local flooding, damaging winds. When it comes to the weather around here, if it's not one thing it's another. Sigh...
  6. Can't say it much better than that.
  7. Nobody does junk like you do!
  8. Beautiful. Love the stock version.
  9. A talented singer who wastes her talent on teen idol stuff. But I have to say she is very easy on the eyes...
  10. It does look cheerful... in a dorky sort of way!
  11. We hit 46 today! But there is SO MUCH snow on the ground that things still look pretty much the same as they did yesterday. We're gonna need a whole lotta melting here before things look different.
  12. Thanks, Geoff... but I took a few liberties with the details. It'll be a nice looking shelf model for sure, but not a contest winner.
  13. Frank... seeing as how I have found a fellow brass-era fan... have you built the Pocher 1907 Fiat race car?
  14. I never knew that kit existed. I would love to have one. I can see why Skip was confused... the Stutz Bearcat and the Mercer Raceabout look very similar at first glance. They must have been quite the rivalry between them back in the day.
  15. I want the 1/8 scale version.
  16. Do you have any photos you could post?
  17. It's a dark metallic gray. I mixed acrylic metallic silver, black, and red ochre.
  18. It's not light blue, it's gray. Maybe I'll paint it. The wiring on the firewall is a total fake job... just wanted something there besides a blank surface.
  19. There's no such thing as Corel Photoshop. Photoshop is made by Adobe.
  20. I'd love to get my hands on an unbuilt one.
  21. Scratchbuilt exhaust manifold installed. Hey... it fits! The engine compartment is just about done. I could have added more details, but my intent from the beginning was to build a reasonably well-detailed model, not a contest winner...
  22. The Aurora Stutz I'm using is a curbside, so no engine detail. The Lindberg Stutz donor kit is a race-only version, no stock exhaust manifold. And the Fuman Mercer's exhaust manifold is four-port, so that won't work on a Stutz engine. I guess if I want a stock exhaust manifold, I'll have to make one. So I did. A bit of sprue bent by heating over a candle flame. The flanges are sheet styrene, and the mounting bolt heads are sliced off a length of hex-shaped styrene:
  23. Ditto what Cato asked... what's the kit you used? How can I get one?
  24. I like it. Nice weathering. And nice backdrop.
