  1. Nicely done, but the running boards should be black, not chrome plated. Only a thin chrome strip along the outer edge.
  2. I have always liked the looks of that car. Very cool! Just one suggestion... I think those "pads" on the bumpers should be flat black.
  3. I have been for a long time.
  4. I have a Curved Dash Olds and a 1909 Stanley Steamer also under construction.
  5. Seeing as how you yourself realize this is an "off topic" post, why didn't you post it in the OFF TOPIC section???
  6. Four tornadoes touched down in Illinois yesterday. And we go from winter directly to spring...
  7. I don't exactly have unlimited resources either...
  8. This weeks's car is a 1967 DKW Vemag Belcar. http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_475727-DKW-Vemag-Belcar-1967.html http://www.buscaacelerada.com.br/frame/18943924 Who got it right: DonW Erik Smith GeeBee Badluck13 The Creative Explorer carsntrucks4you MikeMc mr chips Chris R Agent G george53 otherunicorn customsrus
  9. OK, wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic or not. Got it now...
  10. I'm surprised by how many mentions have been made of J. Geils Band. They were ok, I guess... had several big hits, sure... but I really can't see them making an "all time favorites" list. Oh well... it's all subjective...
  11. Mirrors?
  12. I guess that car in the foreground is sort of blocking the view.
  13. Because the cost of the HEMI option added about 50% to the price of the car. Not a whole lot of people were willing to spring for that kind of cash just for an engine option. Everyone did NOT want a HEMI, only a very few did... that's why today they are so rare and pricey. There just aren't that many out there.
  14. Thanks, Skip (and Frank). All of my reference photos show diamond tufting on the seat back and sides, too.. but if you two say what I did is authentic, that's good enuff for me!
  15. Why not just pull up to the pump, go in and get what you want (snacks or coffee or whatever), tell the cashier to give you 20 bucks on pump 12 or whatever... pay for everything (snacks and gas)... then go out and pump your gas... and you're done. ONE trip into the store. Why complicate it and make TWO trips into the store?
  16. We are getting rain all day today... supposed to get snow overnight. We get it all here!
  17. That's just their way of giving the city a big friendly hug! BTW... "Haboobaphobia" is my vote for the best made-up word of the day...
  18. Decal from the Fuman Mercer kit.
  19. Got the seats done. I did the cushions the way I've described in several of my other WIPS. I didn't do the seatbacks and sides, though... I would have had to form some sort of shell that was shaped like the seatback and sides, and even then the thickness of the upholstered cushion using my method would be too much for the seats at this scale. I could have made it work in 1/8 scale, but not this small. Just one of those compromises, I guess...
  20. How do you know they're evil? Maybe they're friendly haboobs, just misunderstood and denigrated by haboobaphobes like you... I've heard that you can see some impressive haboobs in many of the Vegas floor shows...
  21. If you upload images directly from your computer, there is a storage limit here that kicks in pretty quickly. If not, this site would become a huge photo-hosting site... and that's not what this place is meant to be. You need to open an account with a photo hosting site like Photobucket, load up all your images there, then only post the link to the images here. That way we see the images here, but the actual images are taking up space on the photo hosting site's servers, not here.
  22. How does the Las Vegas area handle a cloud emergency? I assume mass evacuations?
