You still have to learn how to take photos that are in focus!!! but the model looks good. Nice job!
  2. The article says "Worst Made" cars... but the "worst" cars are rated poorly not because they're not made well, but because of low safety scores and low value ratings (value being highly subjective and not really quantifiable). These days, pretty much all cars are made well... with advanced technology and robotics, there really are very few, if any, cars that are not made well. Sort of a confusing article.
  3. I guess you didn't read my earlier post...
  4. You can get flat and semi-gloss clear acrylic... safe over any paint.
  5. You can make water hoses with solid-core solder. Very easy to shape, paint it flat black and attach with epoxy or superglue. Attach one end first, let it dry, then glue the other end in place.
  6. Looks good, nice and clean, but it looks like you are missing the radiator hoses. I can see the lower connection on the water pump, and there's no hose connected to it! Also, if it was mine, I'd add some chrome foil to the windshield frame.
  7. Don't necessarily think that this is a hint one way or another, but most of the models I use here are not kits, but either diecasts or scratchbuilt models... so don't assume anything based on what any particular builder would or wouldn't do, just remember that any car can be built as a model, in any scale, kit or no kit.
  8. Those cars all look to be in great shape. I wonder if they all run?
  9. I haven't seen the Merc, but it's easy to flatten any paint. Just spray flat clear over it. (or semi-gloss clear if you want a slightly shinier look).
  10. You're right. When I was going through this thread I didn't see any in progress photos, so I figured it would fit better in the General section... but you're right. Sorry guys, my mistake... now you're back where you were before.
  11. This topic was in the "On the Workbench" section... but since there is not one photo of anything "on the workbench," I moved it to where it should have been in the first place, which is "General."
  12. Ok, how about this one? Real or model? The answer: REAL!
  13. At least he's offering free shipping...
  14. Wow!!! That's very nice work.
  15. I'm pretty sure that Black Widows didn't have a passenger side seat back. They dumped them to save weight.
  16. Nice! The interior detailing is fantastic... and I love the puppy in back!
  17. In Florida and Hawaii it's a lanai... in Wisconsin it's a porch... and in Germany it's a por-shuh!
  18. I just deleted about half the posts in this thread, they all had one thing in common: they had nothing to do with the subject at hand. Keep your personal arguments and "trades gone bad" nonsense to yourselves. Work it out off the forum, either via email or PMs.
  19. I have the V16 Cadillac, it's a fantastic kit... extremely well detailed, opening doors, poseable wheels, etc.
  20. Yeah, maybe that's it. I thought we used to have an actual "Off Topic" area.... maybe not. Either way, it got messy. Very entertaining...but messy.
  21. Yeah, I gotta say I don't get that whole "What did you get today" deal. It's like asking "what did you have for lunch today?" And yet the thread goes on for 80+ pages! Beats me what the point is of telling each other what model we got today. But notice: I have never complained about the fact that it's there. I have no interest in that thread... to me, which model so-and-so got today is about as relevant as who bought a new pair of shoes today...so what I do is... pay attention, everyone... I don't click on that topic! I've found that this specialized technique of "ignoring whatever I have no interest in" works amazingly well for me. I'm just sayin...
  22. I think there actually used to be an "Off Topic" section here somewhere, but it got a little, uh, boisterous, and Gregg deleted it.
  23. You win, too. We can go one of 3 ways: A. No off-topic posts, period (let's call this the Ken solution)... B. Create a specific area only for off topic posts. C. Limit any off-topic posts to a designated area (General Topics). Solution A accommodates one certain group of members and alienates another group. Solution B (which I think is what Pat is driving at) is unnecessary, IMO, as we already have a spot for "other" posts (General Topics). Solution C accommodates everyone. Or in other words, leave things as they are! My 2¢, for what it's worth. But I'll be happy to go with whatever the majority wants.
