What a coincidence! I helped my daughter build a farm dio last night for a school project & was thinking the hot glue might make good tires! Glad to hear it worked out for you. I just wonder about shrinkage over time? BTW, your '40 is looking nice. One of my all time favorites as well. I'm tuned in here!
Hey Ira, beautiful work on Don! Wondering? Would his pupils look more "reptilian" as vertical slits rather than round? Of course, round would humanize him? Just thinking.
I forgot about Stephenson's!! Only ate there a couple times, but drove by it on Independence Avenue 1000s of times!......Strouds Family restaurant on I-35 is awesome home cooking as well!
Doc, I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. Same kind of working class town as Pittsburgh, only BBQ rules at "home". Ollie Gates & Arthur Bryants. Every President since Woodrow Wilson has eaten at both places!
Wow, Don! how did I miss this one? I'm probably too late, but I've always wanted to try flat black with BMF flames! The '49 Merc would be the perfect body for it!
I just completed a successful trade with bbowser (thanks Bruce). The kit came very well packaged.............in newspaper! I often receive trades packed with others "local" news. I really get a kick out of perusing the stories from other parts of the country. I was just wondering if anyone else enjoys this part of the trading process as much as I do? From now on I will include some local tid-bit from my part of the world in all my dealings.
I really have no business complaining about shipping charges. It costs me almost $40 in gas to get to Hobby Lobby & back! I just wish ALL vendors would get a little closer to actual costs. I know some do.
I've never paid more than $8 to ship a kit. The postage on single kits when received was always under $6. I actually paid $9 shipping on a few small resin parts from a "reputable" vendor that cost him $2.45 to ship. I think ACTUAL shipping cost is the fair asking price! After you ship a few things, you should have a good idea what it costs & charge accordingly! OR be prepared to refund what was overcharged.
