In the path of destruction
Bartster replied to Sam Cates's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My youngest daughter's puppy ate a '61 Impala body in a well documented case here on the forum. Both daughters "borrow" Sharpies & paint brushes almost criminally. But at least they're creating, so I can live with that. -

This could be very interesting. Can't wait to see more. -
What a cool drop top! Paint, stance, detail; all excellent.

Have you ever seen a model like this
Bartster replied to Models by Bear's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
.......That's how I did my Pearson Pontiac in the early '70s. The decals on the outside gave it a groovy kinda 3-D effect! -
55 came..o.g.

Nice, subtle mild custom. -
VERY nice custom bodywork. Looks like it came from the mind of Henry.

I'm so glad this got brought back up. It's good to have all this information in one post. It might be good to pin this.

Just curious, do you have, or plan to build a stock car for the trailer?
-
That's really cool!

You've got some really cool projects going!

Nice truck, Jim! Well planned & executed. The pancake hood is a nice touch & I like the contrast of the green engine parts. & SO SHINY!!i -
I've had this kit for a while & never looked at it much, other than pirating parts from it. I will watch your build & maybe pull it out to look at it again. Looks like a good start.

From full flared '60s custom to pro-touring? This could be very cool!

2 projects in the works, 86 Mustang LX and Fairmont resin body
Bartster replied to prostockmania's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I can't wait to see what you do with the Fairmont. I like the body style! -
Everything is turning out great, Scott. Fine job on the intake. I don't know what else you could have done. It looks like you might be going for the blue & white version? Just a wild guess! Keep up the good work!

One of my favorite Mopars as well. It looks pretty close to B-5 blue to me. Very nice for a 2-day build.

......The local library is a 40 mile round trip & I do go occasionally. They have 2 computers that are ALWAYS being used. The one time I could sit at one, I asked for assistance & the librarian gave me instructions as if I knew what I was doing. When I explained that I literally knew nothing about computers, she very kindly said she didn't have time to teach me. Of course she didn't & I was asked to let the next person in line have the seat. Perfectly understandable. It's a shame that I waited so long to want to learn. There is literally no one that will believe me when I say I know nothing. Even at the unemployment office last year, the lady helping me snickered and continued to give me instructions as if I operated one every day. I assume she was trying to teach me how their software works(?) instead of teaching me how the computer works. It really is hard for people to believe there are still people out here who are computer illiterate. OK. 'Nuff rambling. I LOVE model cars, so I'm willing to play the fool to "play" with my cars! Thanks for putting up with me. -
Photo albums for storing decals....
Bartster replied to roadhawg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I rarely use decals, so I have very many. GREAT idea! We also rarely use photo albums, so I have many empties. This is a cool idea for when others might need what I have! Thanks. -
done with the hobby i think
Bartster replied to polandmob's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I did the same thing in '80. Bought some more kits in '88 & quit again in '91. Those times I gave away everything. I started buying the occasional kit, glue, & paints again i '95. This time I kept most of it. When the economy dumped, I had to sell all my 1:1 toys, most of my tools & move to the middle of nowhere! I got injured on the job & dusted off the 1:25 stuff. In the last 4 months, I've gone from 20 kits to 60, discovered this web site, aftermarket parts, & a whole new world of modeling fun. The only thing I would trade this for is a thriving economy, a good income & all my 1:1 stuff back. My only regret is NOT keeping ALL my old 1:25 stuff. I chose to "lose" that stuff. -
Classy looking deuce! Nice how you carried the interior theme to the grille. Really ties it all together. What color is that?....Haha! Looks JUST like midnight blue pearl. Doh!

I agree Jim. I knew I was straying into a gray area & away from the actual message being sent. That's why I differed "a little". I was actually off topic while trying to convey my frustration at another area of techno-communication. I apologize. I'm sure my situation is not unique, but with texters in my house-daughter& wife, it's actually more frustrating for me to hear/read computer speak than text speak. Again, sorry to get off topic. -

No smart phone. My 16 yr old has one that she can't live without. This is starting to read like a sob story & it's really not. I'm quite comfortable with the way things are for now. There are just other priorities that are more important. There have been other threads here dealing with this subject, but I'm still somewhat of a technophobe (?). Taking baby steps. -

Love to Harry. Internet access is expensive & I'm told unreliable where I live. I did away with our credit cards 3 years ago & I have to have one to get it hooked up. We're still trying to figure out a way to get into the new swing of things. It's ironic. I lived in a big city my whole life & had no time or reason to get on the net. I've been in B.F. Egypt for over 2 years now & could really use it & it's just out of reach! So far! -
Awesome paint job! Love the color & stance. Beautiful car!

I suppose you're right, Harry. Never looked at it that way! From what I'm learning though, it is VERY limiting. No Photobucket access for example. There's no telling what else I'm missing out on.
