  1. Mick, check out Workbench Saturdays on this site. Lots of pages of 'em
  2. Recent "How do I" paint car body with a brush was asked by Mick5s. Old-School way to do things. Lets give it a try. Our forefathers of modeling did it that way. Failure and success pictures would be nice.
  3. Although I have never seen one, I have heard of really well done smooth and shiny paint jobs with a brush. Talk about "old school" tecniques. Properly thinned slow drying enamel may be the key. Sanding and polishing may be another key. I might have to try this.
  4. Where can I get that kit? Sign me up for 2 of 'em!
  5. That game will test your smarts on certain matters. Kinda neat!
  6. Thats real nice. Enjoyed the show!
  7. I see Bare Metal Foil in your future
  8. Topics like this are some of the reasons that I have to invest so much time into completing current builds. Yes I do steal ideas from others and yours are not safe. Keep 'em coming please. Thank You!
  9. Keep up the good work. I really like your ideas. Paper 'aint just for writing anymore!
  10. "Just hold on a minute, let me get this sucker spooled up"
  11. Cool ride. Nice pictures!
  12. Thanks for another great VW build. Great ideas of yours will be stolen by me.

    Very nice. Bling everywhere!
  14. That first video is back in the day of "REAL" men. Second video is just way cool. Thanks
  15. I have tried to keep my dog out of this fight, but just can't. Sometimes I have to let go of my attitudes towards certain things in this world today. It may not be the way that I would have it, but it is what it is. I can either try to accept it as it is, ignore it, or just continue to be bent-up about it. I can not change anybody or anything. I am the one who needs to make adjustments.
  16. Well that just stinks! Wishing for you a speedy recovery
  17. It really aint that bad! Some may be doing the best that they can.
  18. Thick balsa wood + sharp exacto knife + knee for brace = trip to emergency room for stitches in knee. Could have been waaaaay worse. This was 6th grade 1974.
  19. Sand paper does not last long. You know what they say about keeping tools sharp....it's the same thing.
  20. Gotta love them seat covers! Gotta love the originality of the whole thing. Nice job
  21. Hi Steven, I like everythingli about your VW build INCLUDING the wheels and tires. I can see weathering and great scrub marks on them. We used to use a line that went something like "look at that car, the wheels and tires are worth more than the car". I've had and driven old cars that may look as if they have been through a battle but they always had good rubber on them. The title states "beat up" not "junk yard".
  22. There may be a problem with his potassium levels or he has a horde of monkeys to feed
  23. I assemble both rails and all crossmembers with no glue, square it up, flatten it out, pin or tape it solid to mat or jig, then lightly apply liquid glue to all joints and let dry. Then I carefully apply more glue (with a glue that I really trust) to these joints. Good luck and have fun
