  1. Thats the good stuff! Thanks
  2. Apply clear flat as needed may work.
  3. You are getting the hang of that weathering stuff. Nice before and after shots. No more lol around
  4. Be very careful with this model thing with a 12 year old, he may begin to use you as an enabler for a newly forming addiction. This could be a really good habit for him. Zingers are the gateway kits towards more complicated building. Corvette looks real good. Peace Out!
  5. I personally do not like to give up on any project but this case may be an exception to the rule. I might just throw away all primers and paints and parts involved in this build. Could this be related to some funny kind of tape?
  6. The bar goes up another notch. Wow!
  7. You make a good point John. Airbrush has created a huge learning curve for me. Can be a bit expensive to get into also. I used to take parts into basement and spray away with cans and come back upstairs and play. Airbrush setup required "station" to spray in. Booth was also required for this "station". The good part of this is building and painting in same room now which is nice. I do use both airbrush and cans depending on parts being painted. Problems have been encountered with airbrush but I will continue to mess with it. It has kind of become a challenge to improve my skills. Someday you may find all my airbrushing equipment on CraigsList Kansas City but for now I will keep trying. Just one more quick note: Alclad products seem to work well for me with airbrush.
  8. Taking toys away from a 2 year-old.......
  9. Please do not forget that these are plastic cars so anything goes.
  10. That's really cool. Great imagination. Original G.M. truck color for the era too. Good job!
  11. Is it a cover for intake manifold hole where stock choke parts/linkage for carb. come up and thru?
  12. I also have had a few dreams that involved models. Not all of them were of the boxed variety
  13. Thats the kind of stuff that makes me sit back and say "WOW"

This kit seemed to require all of my skills (including some not yet aquired). It just begged for some scratch built parts along with the choice of using optional parts it came with, fit issues to deal with, stance choices, tricky masking, street or strip, trim paint or foil, color combinations, and on and on. Ah, just the basics some may say! This is the one that made me want to "build a better model". Mine is by far not perfect but still one of my favorites on shelf. Looks like your having fun with yours too.
  15. There is no part of model building that I don't like. Some things give me more problems than others, but those areas are just areas that I need to improve in. If I hated any part of model building, I just wouldn't build models
  16. You ask if I ever wonder about Dr. Cranky, I always wonder about Dr. Cranky
  17. Looks like a "Redneck with Money" ride.
  18. Waaaaaay coool. Keep us posted please.
  19. Edward, yes to #1, #3, #5. If the store you got your airbrush doesn't have another one in stock another Hobby Lobby is not too far away from you.

Mmmmmmm, Shiny! Are we having any fun yet?
  21. Tamiya clear did not harm clear parts on a project of mine. Give it a test on scrap clear part. Good luck
  22. Welcome. Great builds. The dog on bed in diorama looks so real. Looks like you might stay into modeling now.
  23. You and many others here are the one who teach me "how-to" on just about any phase of modeling. Lesson from your post today is in photography, lighting, and photo booth. Nice build
  24. Thats what my car occasionally looked like after leaving dive bar. Dive bars need TONKA trucks for decor. It'll be a great model car story after repairs are made. Good Luck
