1989 and 1992 ford mustang comparisons?
madhorseman replied to ERIK88's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
They would be basically the same kit, save for the wheels. The '92 version would have the 5 star pony wheels, while the '89 would be equipped with the turbine style wheels. The cheese grater style taillights are correct for '87-93 Mustang GTs. 1990 and up cars would have the airbag equipped style steering wheels. Roy -
Nick, my work has me outside in both the extreme cold and heat. I can speak from 30 plus years experience, so I'm with You there.

We'll most likely go from the 20's right into the hot humid weather,HaHaHa. At least when it's cold You can put on more layers, but when it gets that hot You can only take off so much!!

And if Your ever in this area you've got to go to Palmer Place in La Grange Ill, great burgers,sandwiches,O-rings, and potato salad, and plenty of beers on tap,and in bottles, the best!!!! Don't forget Route 66 Raceway, my son and I go for the NMCA/NMRA Superbowl of Street Legal Drag Racing, always a Great time.

Hi all, Love them Cobras, Nice work Jamie. I've heard it said that slow progress is better than no progress . So here is where I'm at. -
Here are pictures of my recently received '67 Mustang kit. Along with a set of resin wheels I plan to use. Roy

Thanks Gordon, but I'm having second thoughts now. As I was buffing out the finish the paint started chipping in different areas, like the edges of the hood and truck lid, etc. So I may end up stripping it down and repainting the whole thing again. Roy

OK, put me in with a 1967 Mustang...thanks. Roy

Hey Y'all ! I'd like to try the Cannonball again this year....that is if it's not too late to get in on it? Roy

I thought I'd try another diecast re-do. This time I've stripped an Action Elite Kenny Wallace Monte Carlo to re-do as a Dale Earnhardt 2000 Taz car. Thanks for looking. Roy

JW, I love the color, and the finish of Your GT 500. Everything else on Your build is looking great as well. Phil, I just bought the Shelby annual, read the article on the "The Executor", and to see Your finished replica is pretty awsum!!! Great work guys!! Roy -
Also gone, and obviously forgotten..my 1969 Shelby Mustang. And someone did Use a nascar Chev with an extra seat, and if memory serves me correctly it didnt even have a full exhaust.

Ok, You got me Phil. I used Testors Bright Aqua Pearl lacquer, (Shhh, it's listed as a Chevy color), I thought it was a very good match for it. Roy -

Great looking Cobra,Phil!! What paint did You use? That finish looks fantastic. Here's a shot of my '69 Shelby with the body painted.Gulf stream aqua is the color.I also painted the interior, just dont have a picture of it yet. Roy -
Thanks Bruce, yeah, it does need the hood pins touched, along with a few other things....it's not quite done yet. Oh yeah the decals needed to be overlayed, so there was some drying time involved in between layers. Thanks again, Roy

Ok, this is where I'm at. Just to be clear, this project started out as a '99 Jeremy Mayfield Taurus Team Caliber diecast. I stripped and repainted in this theme. It's been repainted with Testors Model Master bright yellow and Testors Model Master pearl metallic clear coat. Thanks for looking, and for the feedback.

Here is a 1999 Taurus that I'm giving a make-over to. I plan to use an M&Ms theme with different numbers and driver name. It will be a gift for a friends son.

A lot of great looking builds going on!! The paint work on the '66 GT-H is awsum, great start on the '06 GT-H as well. -
Hi Mark, a few years ago I built this version using the AMT Pro Street re-issue. It just so happend that someone was selling a resin nose to build a more accurate version. I did recently buy a built car on EBay, for the chassis to use on another project that did have the correct hood bulge, but with grille headlights and such of a '65-66 car.

Hi all, I would like to join in this build as well to honor the memory of the late Carroll Shelby. It's my belief he'll not only be missed in the automotive world, but by the the countless heart patients that were helped by his charity work as well. R.IP. Carroll Shelby -
Niko, I'd like to post my build. But it is something I started on a few years ago and just haven't gotten around to finish. Roy
