  1. The valve cover was a decal. I got it from a vendor on ebay. It took a lot of Micro set/sol to get it to lay down over all of the grooves/crevices.
  2. Started a new one. Revells Integra Type R. this is what I have so far
  3. FINALLY Started back on this build! here is the update: Thanks for looking!
  4. Hey guys & Gals! Great stuff going on here. here is the R33 Finished. Been built for a few weeks now, but just haven't had time to post since I am in the middle of a move right now. Anyway herre is a pic. I'll have to get better photos but this will do for now.
  5. Hey Marcus, welcome to this great site. I'm pretty new to all of this as well, but it was recomended to me, to use elmers glue around the window areas. I use a toothpick to apply it to the edges of where I am trying to put the window. I believe Testors makes a glue specifically for window areas, but I have no experiance with it. Hope that helps you out a little bit.
  6. looks like a fun redo project. You have any color ideas yet?
  7. The reason I ask, is for a kit like this. Where the fog lights and the Grill area are all molded together. I wasn't sure.
  8. I'm wondering how everyone does this. Do you paint the details, like the turn signal markers, tail lights (that don't come with clear pieces), fog lights, etc. over the clear cloat, or do you paint them before the clearcoat. I was thinking before the clearcoat, but then I was thinking parts like the flat black grill areas needed to be painted after, because they were flat black, so I am unsure?. Thanks!
  9. Ok, I thought I had finished this build and then realized there were no mirrors! Not sure how I missed spraying the side mirrors, but some how I did. Anyway here it is almost completed. I had a rough time with the first decal, but it was my fault. Oh well, it is all about learning so this is my first (almost) finished glue kit. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions along the way! And here is a quick video of my thoughts of the build http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hj5Yg6IgLG0
  10. Laid some paint this morning.I forgot I had this color. Used on some hot wheels that I repainted. Anyway, just letting it dry and gas out some then going to wetsand it and go over with another coat. Interior, it turned out ok, still trying to learn.
  11. Progress Pics: Primered and wetsanded body Rotors & Calipers Brembo: Chassis Now working on the interior, but need to decide on a color scheme before I continue....hmmmmmm.....
  12. You are off to a good start with your tool box. There are some great suggestions in this thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54503

  15. hey guys, I've taken a short break from this build, but I'll get back to it soon. Everyone is coming up with some great looking stuff!
  16. This is what I watched, he touches a little on the HOk that is airbrush ready.
  17. I have the HP-CS and I love it! I don't think you could go wrong with any of those though. As far as other chemicals, you may just want to pick up some of the HOK Medium reducer in case you want it a little thinner, and I'm not positive, but I thought I heard/read somewhere that HOK paints needed to be sprayed at around 40-45psi, I may be wrong though, but if it does you will want to make sure your compressor can go that High. I know mine only goes to 30 psi. As I am new, take this advice lightly.
  18. I have primered the body of the car and while sanding to smooth everything out, I had some white of the body start to show through the primer. Do I primer the whole thing again? or do I just spray primer in the spots that are now showing white? I tried to search this but didn't find what I was looking for. Pictures below show what I am talking about.
