  1. There are no charges for buyers or vendors, and all are invited to set up a table and sell or trade what you have. This isn't a huge swap meet:; we usually have 15-20 vendors and a lot of buyers. Come on out and check us out. We might even get you to join the club.
  2. Last night I picked up a Revell McLaren Mustang and a couple of AMT 1/43 semi trailers (reefer and dry van). Today, I'm gonna run over to Hobby Lobby and get me a big ol' Shelby for 40% off.
  3. The Polk Area Modelers Society is having a swap meet on Saturday, April 28, from 10 am until 3 pm in front of Hobbytown USA, in Merchant's Walk Shopping Center, S. Florida Ave., Lakeland, Fl. This is a event for all genres of modeling, and is open to the public. Buyers and sellers are welcome. This only a swap meet. Tables are limited, but sellers are free to bring your own.
  4. Just kidding! (Did I step on someone's toes? Sorry.) It was a joke.
  5. Dang, I wish I could afford to pay somebody to put my decals on. Of course, where I come from, we jus' do it ourselves. I come from Florida. Cranky, you gots to move somewhere else!!! No offense...
  6. I second the House of Hobbies. Ralph's Hobbies in St. Pete is also good. In Tampa, Charlie's Discount Hobbies is worth a look.
  7. They still have the 66 Bug. Actually, it's suggested retail price. (unless Wifey works for Mr. Mouse. Then I get a 35% discount.) Crappy selection, though. I'll post the selection when I go for my birthday next month. I know they have a 380z, a Skylne, the stock Mini Cooper, a couple of bikes, and some f the wooden walking models. I'll repost next month.
  8. Cool build...but it needs the spare tire on the front.
  9. Dood, we need you in our G scale Model Train club!
  10. Swayback roof...you got it right, bro. I haven't seen a dio like this in 1/12. Simply awesome!
  11. Ooh, HO scale!!! I like it. I'm fairly new here...is it for a layout?
  12. Nice rusty roof. A friend from high school bought a 69 AMX out of a barn just like yours.
  13. There was a lady here in Lakeland a few years ago that finally sold her son's 66 Vette. He bought it, and went back to Nam for a second tour. The garage was 12' x 20 'or 22'. She sold the car, and passed away within months. By the late 90's, the roof on the garage was severely swayback. The doors seemed really rotted, as through the years, we could see more and more what the car was. As far as I know, the car was cleaned up and sold at Barrett-Jackson, for a lot more than he paid for it. Shame is that mama died soon after, so there's no telling where the money went. As a personal aside, one of my buddies from high school bought a 69 AMX out of a farmer's barn in 1981. He paid $900 for it. We took it out that night and lined up against an 80 Trans-Am. We spun tires though 4 gears. Danged dry rot.
  14. The sky is blue in Wayne's World

  15. I'm in Mulberry, a little south of Lakeland.
