  1. Neat stuff, very true to the theme !
  2. What swamp did they pull that thing out of ? Were there any bodies in the trunk ?
  3. Another nicely finished replica....
  4. Nice to see something out of the ordinary, very authentic looking too.
  5. Yes, this is another "wish" car, I wish it was in my garage. Collectable Automobile quarterly served up some choice detail pictures and inspiration for the conversion from Elvira to stock. Paint is Testors rattle can, some Modelhaus parts are thrown in too. Thanks for looking.
  6. Why dont they just include an extra engine and be done with it! That way we will have our hot rod motors and still be able to finish the kit build.Or maybe someone can resin cast some up.
  7. Using your imagination is what it's all about, and kit bashing like yours is pretty advanced. Way to go !
  8. I'm a Hoosier Born in Gary ( in the 50's it was a decent urban center to live in ), then in Portage for 30 plus years, now in the land of low wages and sunshine.....
  9. Very nice! looks like a nice kit too.
  10. Nice stance, looks like it's ready to launch !
  11. Had a lot of fun building this 32. Lots of inspiration from years of drooling over hot rods, ol' school style. Wood floor, trunk tank, Buick style trim, and a few other details to give it "that" look. Thanks for looking. http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/jdcar32/Monogram%20Big%20Duece/th_P3130054.jpg' alt='th_P3130054.jpg'>
  12. Thanks for the kind words! J.D.
  13. Rare Sports Films offers a wide variety of old promotional Nascar films on DVD from the 50's and 60's that have superb detail views of many stock cars. I have several and recommend them highly. Visit their site on the web, $25/$30 a pop. not cheap but very enjoyable for a fan of the early days before the corporate world took over racing. The cars were real, and larger than life men like Junior drove them. You might take a look at my 59 Biscayne in "Under Glass". Also, I used one of these films to decal the Bud Moore '60 Pontiac in this forum. Good luck with your project, looking forward to seeing progress. J.D.
  14. Nice color choice, really nice stance !
  15. Thanks so much Harry ! I'm still learning my way around the posting world. Thats much better ! J.D.
  16. To me the early cross ram Mopar engines are eye candy. This is the Color Me Gone kit converted to street stock before Lindberg released their stock version. The engine is a resin kit. Many parts including wheels and tires are from the Bill Maverick wheelstander stock components. The exhaust is scratch built from the parts box. Thanks for looking.
  17. http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/jdcar32/Nascar%201960%20Pontiac/th_100_0366.jpg' alt='th_100_0366.jpg'> This model is based on a Modelhaus Bonneville body with the hood cut open. I now realize it is incorrect as it should be a Catalina. The decals ( Fred Cady and white film ) and color are based on an old promotional film. The chassis is Monograms 59 Impala with 2 shocks per wheel. A modified stock bucket seat and engine were pirated from a GTO kit. Thanks for looking.
  18. Maybe too clean, I'm ready to try a Cranky style build. But thanks !
  19. Thanks Doc !
  20. The model is like the real Ranchero, not many around and always a pleasure to see. Nice job ! By the way, check out the Ranchero currently offered on BAT ( Bring a Trailer )
  21. File the head of a common straight pin from the sewing kit to reduce the head diameter closer to scale. Drill the kit anntena mounting base to accept the sharp end of the pin. If possible drill the mount thru and drill the fender also for a good secure mounting of the assembled pin and mounting base.
  22. http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/jdcar32/32%20ford%203%20window/th_P5060138.jpg' alt='th_P5060138.jpg'> Remembering how excited I was when the Monogram 32 was released! A GOOD kit of the duece. I opened the doors and added the 50 Ford pick up flathead. The Halibrand quick chage is scratchbuilt . Thanks for looking.
  23. I agree with all above
  24. Hi Lee, yes the Revellogram 59 and 57 Black Widow ( motor )
  25. Thanks for your input Bob, I'm having alot of difficulty for some reason with posting these pictures. I certainly agree with you regarding hassles related to viewing. JD
