  1. One detail can elevate a build, that roll back top does the trick, and the color is "right".
  2. It takes talent to do "old , krappy, but kool" right. Your build is done right.
  3. Dont, I repeat, Dont try to start the motor ! Nitro might melt the plastic ! LOL
  4. Super glue works wonders on Ex-acto cuts, take my word for it !!!!! Looks like your having fun !!!
  5. Hi Shawn, May I ask what type of career are you involved in? Is it related to your incredible modeling skills and eye for detail?
  6. What with the outdoor lighting and the excellant dark wash I can almost hear that thing cackling. Brings back fond memories of the 32 car Friday night shows at US 30 in Merrillville. The big block Chevies sounded loader to me than the Hemi's. Bruce Larson, Jungle Jim, Dick Harrell, god I loved it !

    1936 Ford

    A classy little rod !
  8. In reference to the header comment, I suppose a set of traditional "lakes" style headers would look good on this build. I really like it so far......
  9. Thats a wonderful replica of an unusual subject !
  10. I just gotta put stuff down there, even if nobody's gonna see it....32 Ford, 57 Ford, 49 Ford, 59 Biscayne, 64 Dodge, 64 Marauder.
  11. Traditional eye candy ! Are the rear tires Modelhaus ?
  12. Darrin, build to the level you enjoy and build what you want to look at, a curbside version of this car would be very nice and would only require a stance adjustment to the original kit chassis and some side exhaust peeking out.
  13. Along with the '60 Starliner youl want to rework the radiator support to remove the screw hole lugs from the old tool chassis. Although this is my stock build using the old tool separated chassis and floor pan it is close to what a kit bash can achieve. Parnelli's car is really neat, have fun and keep us posted.
  14. Outstanding
  15. Never get tired of seeing 32's, very nice build !
  16. E.B. was a natural, you always believed the caractor he was playing. I saw him interviewed recently and I marveled at how vibrant he seemed at 95, sort of like Jack LaLayne, surprising that they didn't make the big 1 0 0.
  17. I dont know names offhand but it seems to me that some of the early standout kits ( mostly Revell stuff with advanced engineering ) had to have had people involved in their development. Not just company founders but some of the "behind the scenes" folks who designed and pushed for opening doors, working steering, detailed motors, etc. If it wasn't for these guys we would have been building with promo's a lot longer........
  18. The fact that the build didn't cost $25 can only add to your satisfaction, nice build !
  19. My gears are already turning... I've built a 57 Ford Custom 300 utility, a 49 Ford Tudor utility, and a 59 Chevy Biscayne salemans utiity. This looks like a great opportunity to add something very unique to my collection. Plus this one is already engineered as a utility. Maybe the new tool '60 Starliner as a donor chassis and motor with the hood opened.... All my utility builds emphasize early muscle car style: light body - high horsepower. Thanks for posting this one !
  20. Very nice build, wish it was in my garage. Love the Mercs, something diff from Mustangs, etc.....
  21. Didnt Z Frank advertise on WGN tv alot ? I had my '73 340 Duster "Super dyno tuned" at Mr. Norms when it was 6 months old. It cost about $59 and I thought that was too much !!!
  22. Looks like some of the "hill jack" cars I see in my neihborhood now ! Like the left rear quarter bondo / no side light treatment
  23. Beware, these old tool kits are vertually curb side kits with a motor. If your just looking for a nice shelf model this kit is fine. Or it can be kit bashed with a newer tool vintage Ford ( 60 or 60 ? ) for a detailed build. Good luck with your project.
  24. Your right, of course Elliott was #9, was this kit a Spencer car? I don't recall...........
