  1. Saw you over at Trak, loved it there too !
  2. Great color and wheel combo Grumps ! Really nails the resto mod theme .
  3. Right out of the "Little pages", very nice !
  4. ALOT of nice work there!
  5. Very nice, clean build style. Great color combo.
  6. The foam seal on the turkey pan is a neat touch, probably not a kit part ?
  7. Nicely done, it deserves a proper diorama setting to show it off
  8. It's a sweetheart Tulio !
  9. Stance and profile are spot on, looks like a "dollar bill" chop !
  10. How many of us are "set in our ways", not thinking outside our normal box. Then someone comes along with a differant take on things and you say wow! Why did'nt I think of that?
  11. Ah! 1/24.........good point....nix the retractable!!!
  12. A variation of your technique that I use: Stretched sprue - plastic tree held over a small votiv candle and rotated just until it becomes pliable. Then holding it away from the flame gently pull both ends. With a little practice you can control the thickness and lenth. The plastic is much easier to work with , I use fingernail clippers to trim after glueing into a drilled hole. Plus you can hold two parts together and drill through both for perfect alignment. If the pin hole is going to show, leave the pin long and just file the "show" side and it disappears. Note that some plastic tree stretches better than others, just experiment.
  13. Thanks for both comments. Both the '60 Ford and Edsel will work, so I've been told.
  14. I would like some feedback on either the original or re-pop Revell 59 Ford retractable kit regarding detail etc. . The drivetrain and chassis is my main focus for a kit bash with a resin sedan body. Thanks
  15. The chassis wheathering is tops, engine details too !!!!
  16. Very nice build of one of the lessor know but great movie chase film cars. They used an explosive charge against a chunk of telephone poll mounted in the back seat area to launch the car into multiple roll overs. What a way to make a living !!!
  17. Sometimes it's late on a weekend night and I'm in the mood to tinker with a project because I dont have to get up early. But by that time of the day my eyes say "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !
  18. It's similar to Elmers, it CAN be thinned with water to flow . I spread it with a toothpick to cover the lens. It takes about an hour, depending on temp, to go from milky to clear. I bought the Testors cement for clear parts at Michaels.
  19. Very nice to see this one built, nice job too......

    '67 Impala

    Nice muscle........
  21. Casey you mentioned some great modeling points. "Fooling the eye" doesnt cost anything, just a little time, and adds alot. Look closely at the top of the seat back , I added wrinkles to it to make it fool the eye and look more like real upolstery.

    62 Impala

Just the way GM intended it to look !
  23. I have used a coat of slightly thinned ( with water) Testors window glue flowed onto those old tool chromed headlights to give them a better look. It's a water based glue, similar to Elmers I suppose, that is great for securing clear's without crazing or fogging. The headlights on the front of this AMT Merc are coated.
  24. One detail can elevate a build, that roll back top does the trick, and the color is "right".
  25. It takes talent to do "old , krappy, but kool" right. Your build is done right.
