Scale I Build

Found 4 results

  1. Just finished this little Subaru. It's the Hasegawa '68 360 kit. I've always loved the 360 but I love the 360 Cabriolet more. A lot less common than the normal 360 hardtop. The model is painted with Testors colors. I didn't like the kit's whitewall decals so I painted them on. The model is stock accept for the roof. I cut up some leather to replicate the folded rollback convertible roof to let some sun in!
  2. This model I got from amazon for $8. It is an Arii kit. They are a Japanese brand and this kit falls under their 1/32 Owners Club series which includes many unique vintage Japanese cars. Anyways, the Carol was Mazda's second passenger car and the 360 model was powered by a 360cc water cooled inline 4 motor that made about 19 Horses. The model is box stock except I just added some styrene rod to the sides to replicate the chrome trim that was supposed to be on the car. It took about a week to build and it was a fun quirky build.
  3. Hello everyone! Wanted to stop in and start a thread for my little project here. Its a Revell kit from 2003 I got for an insanely low price! It was still in the factory shrink wrap but of course its vented and it appears to have been stored in a very damp climate. Ill have some example pictures below. Some history: This will be my first build in well over 5 years, so it's going to be a slow one guys. I plan to use this kit as a refresher for some various techniques I've had on the brain for a little time now. I picked this kit in particular because when I was about 14 I built one in 2 days, it was gnarly bad. That... And it was CHEAP, I think I paid less than $10 shipped. I've seen a lot of these kits built, so I'm hoping to do something just a little different. ::Plans:: -Exterior: Silver or Ferrari Azzuro California -Interior: 2 Tone Black & Dark Grey -Faux Challange Stredale Rear Insert -Satin Black or Gunmetal Wheels.http://jerryscherrys.freeforums.net/thread/edit/1267 And here she is! (Ruined box because of moisture) What also gave away the moist storage (Besides the stained and collapsed box) is that the chrome pieces lost their luster. All medium gloss grey now. Im waiting on a few more supplies before I really dig into it, but ill keep this thread updated along the way. Thanks for looking! *UPDATE* 12-22-13 Couldn't resist the open kit sitting on my station. Did the trim job on the engine bay surround since these pieces are shared with the Modena hard top kit, as well as trimmed excess plastic and dry mocked everything to test fitment.
  4. Along with my aforementioned Hart's Parts resin interior parts , I also received my 1972 - 1978 Dodge 14" deluxe wheel covers ( "W11" ) from our resident resin caster extraordinare , Missing Link Resins . The turnaround time from order-placed-to-my-mailbox was super quick ; a normal practise of Missing Link . Per usual , the parts were packaged with extra care ; some Michigan-area newspaper crumbles , with the parts themselves carefully placed in a size-appropriate ZipLoc baggie. The coveted parts are perfect reprlicas of Dodge's sales code "W11" deluxe wheel covers . The "1:1" versions were first released in 1972 as upgrade 'covers (versus the base modelles' hub caps) , and were around in one form or another through circa 1978 . The plating is , of course , top notch ; but these parts' beauty 'shines' in their accuracy ! How the heck did the part's master scale down the "DODGE" impressions on the covers' centres ??? The psudo cooling fins are righteous , too !! Take note , all ye whom are building 1972 & later Chargers , Challengers , Darts , Demons ( please cast another batch of your excellent 1972 Demon , Kevin !) , B-vans and D-100 pickups ! These are the right pieces for your builds ! Mine are going to find themselves on the soon-to-be-reissued 1975-1976 Dart Sport from Round2 . Kudos , Kevin , at Missing Link ! Highly Recommended !
