Ferrari V8 in a Subaru rally car
89AKurt posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Found by accident on YouTube. I never thought of putting a V8 anything into a Subaru, looks like fun! -
Built for the The '21 Cannonball Ruse community build. WIP: Tamiya Subaru Impreza (not WRC but Cannonball Ruse) with Hobby Design engine I always wanted to build this Tamiya Subaru Impreza as a private citizen road car, got the Hobby Design EJ20 engine kit a long time ago for this project. The Tamiya kit is typical awesome. The engine needed some modifications to fit. The Thule cargo box is from the Fujimi set that also has the bicycle, it was shortened and turned around, and has one rally light and a lens scavenged from a real camera. Interior has an Igloo cooler, a bunch of Monster drink cans, CB and scanner radio, camera screen, and sun visors. Built in a month, 125 hours. My intent was to not make a show car, but could be a cheap repaint of a retired rally car.

Every chance I get, when I see the owner of a Subaru Forester, I say "Hey, have you seen these with the classic station wagon woodie siding?" They aways look at me like "what are you talking about?" Then I say "The Deforester." 🥁 Fun to see how long it takes for them to get it. New video from Hoonigan, I spotted this car in the back, they never looked at it. Since it's all factory cars, race cars are the only custom cars (BRAT camper is an exception), wonder if this was a concept to gauge interest, and it failed because the young demographic don't know what woodie wagons are?

Tamiya 1999 Subaru WRX WRC car repurposed as a Victorian (Australian state) Police high speed pursuit vehicle. Built as a slammer with blacked out glass and no engine. The kit's rally tyres were swapped out for treaded road tyres. The light bar was homemade with clear acetate droop molded over a wooden buck heated in the kitchen oven with a brass base and chrome spruce pieces inside to represent the lights. Tamiya clear red and blue finish it off. Homemade Police decals and side strips. Added stretched spruce and acupuncture needle antennas plus a scrap sprue speed detection unit. Rattle can white finish and homemade custom number plates that give a nod to the rally car's major sponsor "555".

Just finished this little Subaru. It's the Hasegawa '68 360 kit. I've always loved the 360 but I love the 360 Cabriolet more. A lot less common than the normal 360 hardtop. The model is painted with Testors colors. I didn't like the kit's whitewall decals so I painted them on. The model is stock accept for the roof. I cut up some leather to replicate the folded rollback convertible roof to let some sun in!

Hi all, just made a start on painting some parts tonight - this is my first attempt at properly painting a model and actually taking some care over the end result, unlike my former self Nothing too exciting yet, but hoping to make some more significant progress soon...

This is a few years old now, but wanted to post it to share some of my previous work. I'm currently trying to get a kind of photo booth sorted to take better photos... The window was sprayed with Future, it didn't go well & had to be sanded & polished out - but I think the decals were saved. The decal colours were not aligned, but they went on like a dream, same the print quality of them is so bad. This model is finished in Tamiya Acrylics inside and out - all airbrushed with lots of masking. The final body gloss is with Future polish.

Here is on of my latest builds, Its the Tamiya Subaru WRC 2002. I built it and the diorama base for it. The kit came with two figures for the inside, but they are hard to see with the weathering I applied to the kit. Thanks for looking!

Hello, this is my Subaru Impreza 2001 of the pilot Richard Burns, I had problems with the decals, so I had to repaint some of them. At the end it was good.

Fujimi base kit. Scalefinishes Corvette atomic orange paint. Aoshima Zeit wheels with Buckey Scale Auto Parts tires. Edouard photo etch seat belt. Fujimi muffler. Far from perfect but after 6 years, it's finally done. Thanks for looking I had to do some work to get things to fit right. Thanks for looking.

Hi everyone! Just signed up to the site, figured it'd be handy to. I'm Tomo, I have a passion for cars and modelling. I'm not long turned 15, I'm from Armagh in Northern Ireland and I've been modelling for around a year, give or take a few months. I've learned a lot, but there's still so much for me to learn, so I'm hoping this site will help me get better with the help of you guys! I love muscle cars, Japanese cars, European cars, well, all cars really. I build whatever I see and takes my fancy. I These are a few of my models, I'll post some now so you guys have an idea of what to expect.. it's really not much. I'll be asking for your opinions and help a lot so I can learn! Anyway. On to the models. I'll give a brief sentence about each one. "Immy 2 & 3" - 1998/9 Subaru Impreza WRC/ This is the last model I finished in 2012 (the '99) beside her sister, which I finished earlier in the year. First time attempting snow weathering. 1988 Sauber Mercedes C9 - This was my first attempt at making seatbelts, doing wiring on an engine and bare metal foil. I didn't like the AEG livery this kit came with, I fancied the silver one but couldn't get my hands on one, so I did my own thing. Toyota GT86 - I had decided that, since I'll never own one of these, and I'm quite fond of them, I'll do a model. I wasn't going to due to the price of the thing, but I bit the bullet and I'm glad I did. This is Tamiya's. Fiat 500 "Ferrari Fan" - Decided to weather this slightly. The kit annoyed me, but it's not a bad kit. '70 Plymouth Superbird - This was my first muscle car kit. I've always loved Superbirds, and I was really proud of this one. These are just a few of my models, I look forward to being on here and seeing what you guys have to say and seeing all your lovely works! Cheers! - Tomo

Hey. So years ago, I bouth a Studio27 Subaru transkit from Strada Sports. It was for a long- out-of-production Studio27 kit. I tried to use it on a Fujimi Impreza but it wasn't meant for that kit; or so conventional thinking would have me believe. I contacted Kevin and he was nice enough to send me a few decals to rectify the situation. One of the sets just happened to be from Zero Sports. I decided that it was a sign to see if I deserve to call myself a model builder. Thanks Kevin! I'll let the pictures do the talking...
