  1. Hello Modelers! "Submitted for your approval" .. ( I feel like Rod Serling. Next I'll be seeing strange creatures out my window monkeying with my CVPI!) The start of a 67 Chevy Biscayne 4dr. This takes a bit of doing in that whilst the donor kit is readily available in the 67 Impala SS, it is a fastback and only a 2door to boot. The basic wheelbases are the same between 2-4drs but there is different sheet metal work and termination points on the door tops. The original kit had a very long sloped roof out to the end of the trunk. A conventional "C" pillar had to constructed along with lowering the trunk deck height to sedan like levels. More pics to come but this is the start.. The first pic is from the kit box showing the car's SS (SuperSloping) fastback roofline. That had to go and a new sedan conventional C-pillar built. Yes, it was a PITA. Notice the tops of the doors had to be raised up level to match a new flatter upper roof dripline. A lot of conversions I have seen have left that precipitous drop in door level of the 2dr and just moved on. One was on a STATION WAGON. Anyway, you can see the styrene addition below in white at door tops. Filling it in.. Mor pics to come soon as I am currently building in the solid door window frame uppers. Thanks for looking! Oh, and as I put a notice on the "Parts Wanted' forum, I'm looking for anyone who might have a set of +69 Chevy Nova COPO poverty caps they're willing to part with. In the end, I'll buy a whole kit just to get 'em if I have to but I have to part out kits that way. At any rate, this model will need those one or two years only caps to be accurate. Thanks!!
  2. My latest project start, my take on the 1971 Ford Galaxy 500. It uses a old AMT Boss 429 Police Car as the base donor. See if I can make a Gator McKlusky ride!
  3. Attached are a few pics of a project I've worked on for a couple of years and am now nearing completion. I like 4drs. Mostly so I can build my police car models but also because they are just so very rare in offerings from the styrene tyrants. This was a bit of a rough one. I used a promo for the base and unbeknownst to me, these promos are evidently injected in some kind of ABS or something NOT styrene. SO, you can't just work with grafting on styrene to build what you want. It all has to have styrene superglued to it as a base to work off of. Still, it is finally about done. I modified the tub, modded the rear bumper to create the four tailight base version over the six one on the Caprice. Another scrap grill donated the "Chevrolet" script for the header panel and I added the Bal Air's Chevy Bow Tie to the center of the grill. Make some door mirrors and find some button caps and it's done. Thanks for looking..
  4. Having done the 1988 - 1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, I thought I'd back up and do the earlier version that begins with the downsize in 1979. Since most of the tough work of the overall body was done in the 91 CVPI master, I took one of the test shots of the body that Greg had cast and sent me and tried to see how far I could get in modifying that into the basic 79-87 box form. And since Mike Schnur removed the header panel on the 91 to facilitate casting of the 91, that helps too because there are two basic header panel shapes and three maybe four different grilles that came and went on the car in those years. All I have to do is create each header/grille and that along with the taillight treatment (2 versions there) will decide which year is depicted. So, just to see how hard modifying resin would be I tackled the rear section first. And then I did the hood. Next up are those headers and bumpers. Here are a few pics..
  5. Finally getting a chance to show this 4dr conversion for the Moebius 65 Belvedere that I picked up at the recent Toledo NNL. The 4dr body has corrected vent widow openings, and the interior includes the proper bench seats, Belvedere I style door trim, low trim level dash and the 4dr package shelf. As you can see the body fits my in progress KSP Plymouth build up chassis and interior perfectly ! Here's a close up of the interior parts. I'm hoping they will offer the Dash separately and that I can talk them into doing a proper 2dr Belvedere I bench seats and door trim down the road. Some more photos of the 4dr body on my built up chassis ... Although tempted to keep going, I'm going to save the 4Dr body for a another project and I'm going to finish my KSP Plymouth 2Dr. I'll have an update on that project sooner or later ... -Steve
