  1. About 2 years ago I was made aware that one of my model customer (work at a hobby store) had become sick and was not able to make it back home. His wish was I would take all his kits and find home for the ones I would not use. After a few months of sorting and putting all the parts back in the right boxes (he started about 30 kits started and miss-matched parts) I started to work on a few, when I popped the the top on this box and saw what he had started (chassis with the tubbed rear end from the First release of the Revell 67 Chevelle pro street) I was pretty excited. So after sitting and thinking for a bit I mounted to diff and had to re-do the rear end housing to make it wider to fill the wheel wells properly. After that I changed the rims to ones on it now (couldn't stand the centerline chevy emblem ones) I hot another road block some of the chrome was missing. For those who don'y know what i was starting with here is what the kit box art is this was after the first night of playing and mounting the new rims. Made a tail gate filler panel so after thinking of what i was going to do to fill the missing chrome void i did this for the front bumper and added some screen for a grilles so for the box i tried to fill it best i can, keep in mind the tubs are on the chassis (black part) and the rest is part of the box So for the rear I carried on the lines from the bumper and tail lights, should look not bad. Not a lot of filler was required due to me cutting out the mold lines and filling it with styrene and then sanding it all to shape. For a motor I wanted something big and had killer look to it, but not too unbelievable for scale effect. I purchased a Ross Gibson Alley rat 502 tpi motor a few years ago and tossed it in the goody box so I couldn't thing of a better home for it. More to come after I get some more bench time in.
  2. Hello all, Im 35 years old from the desert in southern California. I have been building since the age of 8 . Much of my interest is geared toward what most call nostalgia drag racing. Straight axle gassers, front engine fuelers, altereds, with pro streets and pro mod type door cars thrown in too. Over 1/2 of my builds were inspired by my late uncle, many of his models were passed down to me before he lost his life to cancer. I hope that you all enjoy my builds, as few of them are "completed" with detail. I one day intend to give all of them the detail and attention they deserve. Thanks! Nate
  3. I hope all you Dads here had a nice Father's day today and you were 'allowed' some bench time I picked up this Flintstone Nash sedan delivery at the Desert Scale Classic back in April. Great deal, been looking for one for a while with the pewter parts. Quite a bit of prep to get the body straight, but its almost there. There's a coat of red oxide primer underneath the black in case I go for the 'patina' look... The bumpers, well they're gonna take ALOT of work. Wouldn't be bad for body colored ones, but I want chrome...ugh... LOVE pewter parts! Nothing looks like metal like REAL metal! This is just a slammer, so I used the wheels and tires from the Revell Willys ProStreet. Can't see much of 'em, but the big Mickey Thompson meats can be seen nicely from behind! Thanks for looking!
  4. Hi Guys, This is a project that I started in 2011 but got put to one side for about a year and a half. It stalled when I realised the floor and firewall wouldn't fit as the engine is slightly further back in the chassis. I'm currently working on making a new floor, firewall, etc. It has scratch built frame rails that incorporate the suspension from the Revell prostreet Willys kit. The fenders were modified to take the wide tyres at the back (with the pickup bed given tubs). The engine is the hemi block from the Revell 5 widow kit with other bits taken from various places. I am hoping to get this finished soon so plan to spend quite a bit of time on over the next few weeks and will update this thread with my progress. Anyway, here's a few pictures to get you a feel for where I am at the moment. The chassis is pretty much complete: The engine needs the injector hat to be finished and then it'll be ready: A mock-up to see how everything fits together: All comments, suggestions, etc. always welcome!   5. Hello, for my first post, I'd like to show you my 1955 Nomad Pro-Street/Drag Wagon. I decided to call it the 9 Second Grocery Getter, for short I'll just call it the Grocery Getter. First, lets start off with the motor. It is a motor from a 1955 Badman Gasser kit. It is painted flat aluminum (oil pan, transmission) satin black (transmission) guards red (block) I re-painted the blower flat aluminum, since the chrome was not so good I painted the headers satin black and I drilled the ends out to look like actual pipe. Originally, I was just going to take parts of the interior and the chassis to fit the large wheels up there like this: But then I remember I still had the chassis to a prostreet 55 belair I did a while ago, so I cut it up and slapped it on there. More updates will be coming soon! Any advice/recommendations are welcome! -Glenn Also, where do you guys get your really wide slicks, and for what price?
