Good evening, all! This project completes the trifecta of kits that have languished on my bench. As with the previous two (56 Delrey, and 57 Chev Convertible), I opted to simply complete this as a box-stock build. Beyond paint, glue and foil, only what came with the kit. I enjoyed the build, but did find myself scratching my head at times regarding some of the decisions made by the kit manufacturer, the most curious thing being the 4-wheel disc brake option, but only offering the factory single reservoir master cylinder, with no power brake booster. All in all, it was an enjoyable build with few issues. Paint Tamiya gold metallic base with Tamiya Transparent red as color coat, followed by Tamiya clear.

I was in Prescott, Az., Tues.-Today, buying cleaners and such which stupid California banned or watered-down (brake cleaner, carb cleaner, parts cleaner, and denatured alcohol) -- cheaper tobacco, too. I perchanced to notice a bottle of Pledge Floor Shine kickin' back on the shelf inside the Tru-Value, all by itself, just asking to be taken home. I left it for one lucky local to buy, as I already have two bottles. GET IT WHILE THE GETTIN'S GOOD

I picked these up recently at a closeout sale. They are made for lexan so I know I will have to clear coat them to get a glossy finish. What would be the best basecoat for them, especially the candy? White, silver, gold? I have two bottles of each which should be sufficient, but I want to keep my tests to a minimum. Thanks in advance.

i just started building model cars and I’m a bit overwhelmed. I just tossed my first model in the trash cause it’s garbage. I’m using the Createx paint and all the paints involved. Like the pearls, candy, irradiance, and the Wicked paints. Do I need to scruff the models, use a primer instead of using the Detailed black or white? I have a ton of questions about how to use the Createx line of paints and I haven’t found a Youtube video called “How to paint model cars for dummies” most of all the tips involve shirts and I already have enough of those. Any and all tips, suggestions, or web links are welcomed!
