  1. hello to all our members....I just today bought the AMT 55 Chev Cameo pickup, pale yellow version, and looked it over for a future build. when I checked the many builts on our forum, and quite nice that they are,,,many comments by the builders made comments that the kit has major problems and issues. some even saying one of the worst kits ever, and so on, so, I ask our esteemed members....what are the pitfalls and problems I have to look out for, and thank you gents.....best,,,the Ace................
  2. Revell's 1963 Chev Impala SS. Box stock build, lots of fun go fast parts in this kit. Did my best to do a "Richard" quality interior. The ride height and stance are right out the kit. Looking forward to the comments.
  3. I'm new to this forum, i have previously been a member of the scaleautomag forum, i have enjoyed seeing the work of many talented modelers on this site and have decided to put a few of my builds here so you all can see a bit of my work, i will be posting my current in progress builds on this site soon and will be on this site often from now on. Here are a few of my 2012 builds:
  4. I'm in the midst of bashing an AMT 1951 Chev Fleetline into a tribute to 50 years of Chev, 1951 meets 2001 (with some 1955 and 2005 'Vette). Body sectioned at beltline; top chopped and converted to hardtop style; interior is mostly 1951 with 2005 Corvette instruments; chassis and running gear is all 2001+2005 Corvette with V-12 engine bashed from the 2001+2005 engines (thus the Corsa V-12 moniker). Upholstery pattern was printed on white fabric with Epson ink jet printer (not shown in the photos, installed since). Extensive mods include moving the firewall back to enable the engine to fit; shortening and sectioning the interior; combining the two 'Vette chassis and drivetrains to lengthen the wheel base to fit the Fleetline body; removing the exterior trim and adding custom trim using Evergreen .020" square; inserting the 1955 'Vette grill; frenching the headlight buckets (headlights will be projectors with halos); inserting the 2001 'Vette rear facia; gas tank made from two '55 Nomad tanks added; forward half of greenhouse from AMT 1951 Bel Air kit (as the Fleetline windshield didn't lend itself to blend into hardtop style). To maintain an impression of the '51 style, the hood is scratch built using RenShape and Evergreen stock. Photos are of beta fit, build is still in progress.
