Hi! Every year, the convention floor at the SEMA Show is covered with eye candy, and the Mustangs and Camaros have been seen aplenty. What if we tried something less mundane? Take a Polar Light Big John 69 Cuda Funny-car body, already shaved, chopped, lenghtened, with flush-fitting contemporary glass, and add scratchbuilt: frame, air-ride suspensions, disc brakes, rack & pinion steering, firewall, floor pan, gas tank, inverted hood hinges, air filters, door panels, seat belts. rear deck, taillight, mirrors, exhaust, etc. Fully wired and plumbed. V10 from Sidewinder's truck, 9" Ford from 76 Torino, rolling stock from Prowler, chrome bucket seats from 65 Grand-Prix (custom option), dash from unknown glue-bomb 928 Porsche. Testor's Metallic black & Diamond dust silver & Maroon red lacquers, airbrushed Metalflake's Red Flip-Flop real-fire flames, Mr. Hobby's premium top coat clear, fully polished. Revell's spray chrome accents and Tamya's clear red acrylic on chrome accessories. Hours of fun with styrene! CT

Hi! I was always a fan of the sleek british sports-cars. They were more "raw", devoid of all the trinkets that Detroit was sticking to its performance cars of the day. Whatever. What if we were to give the nice Revell of Germany XK 120 a "shave", and install the blown Hemi that came as the alternate configuration in the latest reissue of the Cosmic Charger dragster? The long nose of the Jag could engulf all of it, and then some. Pegasus wheels, ultra-thin acetate "floating" windshield, and soft colors (Tamya's acrylics, custom mixed.) The chassis is scratchbuilt for the rear and center platform, and OEM in the front. Custom console and seats + shifter & hand brake lever. Scratchbuilt flush headlights, integrating the flashers bulbs. Wired & plumbed. Outside of my usual comfort zone, obviously. Hours of fun with styrene! CT

Monogram 71 Plymouth GTX kit is a very good kit, minimal flash, and everything fit perfect. This was a bucket-list build for many years and finally built one. Paint is Testor One Coat Lacquer Bronze with lots of hand polished Wet Look Clear. Wheels are Pegasus I staggered the rears and used a smaller diameter front tire. AAR hood is a resin piece with PE screen, changes the look on this one from a stock GTX. A little detailing, did the hood lift spring with fine wire. The air-filter is being redone with some PE screen over the K&N painted lines I've always liked the raked look of the 70-80 cars

Started with the AMT Boyd Coddington kit. Not a great kit by any run, bought it a a less expensive alternative to the newer Revell 1962 Corvette, which I ended up buying to build it in a different style. So this AMT kit got built like this after seeing a rendering of it. Body mods: Molded in custom from air-dam. Shaved chrome detail off the top of both front fenders. Paint: Duplicolor Artic White with lots of Wet Look Clear polished. Note fine red pinstripe around cove and front wheel. Engine: Corvette ZR1 C4 Wheels: from a C5 Z06 inserted into Pegasus aluminum sleeves
