Johnt671 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 This is the latest build I've done. It's painted with Dupli-Color paint, BMFed and decaled, then coated with two brushed on coats of Future. This is my first try at wiring the plug wires which didn't work out so well, but I'll try again.

High octane Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I have one that I've already painted the body, and it sits in a box waiting to be built. I may have to get out my airbrush after 15 (?) years or so to paint the Tri-tone interior.

There's only that picture and a couple others that I could find for reference so far. I just picked this one up and I'll get another because the custom version looks great. Great job, John. Looks killer.
Johnt671 Posted March 19, 2015 Author Posted March 19, 2015 Thanks. I brush painted the interior and gave up on the three tone colors and two toned it. I'm still working on the hood as it's up a little too high yet. As some of the folks above said, an old hot rodder trick was to shim the hood up at the rear to improve airflow through the engine compartment and reduce lift at high speeds. The picture on the side of the box shows this mod.

Johnt671 Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 Here's a front picture I may go back and try to fix the grill up a little better as it looks worse in the picture,. I don't yet have the hang of properly mixing paint to get a nice wash. On this one I painted the low spots with unthinned pait and when it dried tried to scrape the paint off the high spots.
