This is the latest build I've done. It's painted with Dupli-Color paint, BMFed and decaled, then coated with two brushed on coats of Future. This is my first try at wiring the plug wires which didn't work out so well, but I'll try again.

I have one that I've already painted the body, and it sits in a box waiting to be built. I may have to get out my airbrush after 15 (?) years or so to paint the Tri-tone interior.

@cobraman That's how the hood is in the picture of the car and Arnie on the side of the inner box. There's only that picture and a couple others that I could find for reference so far. I just picked this one up and I'll get another because the custom version looks great.

Great job, John. Looks killer.

Thanks. I brush painted the interior and gave up on the three tone colors and two toned it. I'm still working on the hood as it's up a little too high yet. As some of the folks above said, an old hot rodder trick was to shim the hood up at the rear to improve airflow through the engine compartment and reduce lift at high speeds. The picture on the side of the box shows this mod.

Ah yes, on the side of the outer. Thought it was the inner box.

I see you painted the nose like it should have been. How'd it turn out? So far that is the detail I'm least looking forward to!

Here's a front picture I may go back and try to fix the grill up a little better as it looks worse in the picture,. I don't yet have the hang of properly mixing paint to get a nice wash. On this one I painted the low spots with unthinned pait and when it dried tried to scrape the paint off the high spots.
